“awesome fales”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

these have too be the best fales around, stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the samoan experience, awesome beach with great snorkeling among the crystal clear water, the food was fantastic and the owners are so friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again if ever in samoa, it has too be the best spot around

Room Tip: choose an open fale, except for the noise of waves at night the experience is so worth it

Manusina Beach Fales is a small and not commercial beach resort. It's affordable for low budget travellers and with really good food (breakfast and dinner) a coconut drink at any time you want. Manusina is situated in one of the best beach spot I have seen in Samoa.

We arrived at Manusina quite late and unannounced and Taleo gave us the warmest welcome and made us feel at home. We stayed 4 nights and came back for the last nights of our holidays, cause we simply fell in love with this place and Taleos family! I have never seen anyone making more effort to ensure that the guest are happy and have a pleasant stay. We loved the familiar atmosphere, the food is delicious and the beach just amazing. Everything was just perfect!

We have traveled all around Samoa and Manusina beach fales are definitely the best place that we saw! The most beautiful beach I've ever seen. Crystal clear, calm water, beautiful white sand beach, we slept literally 5 meters from the water. Unforgettable experience. We spent there 5 nights, and I regret that we couldn't stay longer. The Samoan traditional food was so delicious...big tasty breakfasts, Palusami with taro and fish...yum! :)
Everything was so clean and organized. We met with other people from village and lived there on Samoan way!
It's not just a touristic place. My wife, son and me felt like a part of the family. We will never forget amazing hospitality of Leilani and Taleo and hope to see them again.

Room Tip: Just go on Manusina Beach web page and contact Taleo directly via email. Taleo picked us up from the...

Manusina it’s fale style right on the beach accommodation. That’s a simple but clean and well maintained place. The open fales comes with a small front balcony perfect to enjoy the beach during the day time, which is very nice here with lot of white sand and good swimming.
As I was solo traveller the samoan owners Taleo and Leilani where attentive to me and they become as my own family there. They know well about traditions and everyday life in Samoa and helped me when needed. The cooking was always tasteful, as well as the fruits coming with the breakfast.
Since I first visited one year ago Manusina become my favourite place for to relax, so I returned there last july for a longer stay. That was simply wonderful.

Room Tip: open fale Open fales are more airy. Closed ones for more privacy or very bad wether conditions.

I came to Samoa, was alone and had no idea what it`s like.
After 2 days i arrived at manusina beach fale and i saw a little paradise.
The most beautiful beach i ve ever seen, the open fale in front of the water, everything was clean and everybody was friendly...
The Food especially the Samoan traditional food was delicious :)
Leilani is a great chef and makes increadible awesome traditional meals.
The first time i ve eaten taro with coconut cream. So fresh, so good, i loved it :)
Also really fresh coconut milk... Jummy :)

Taleo, Leilani (the owener) and family were always there for me to answer a lot questions, to show me great places and making my time there sometimes to a little adventure.
Walking up the hill through the tropical forest, driving with the funny (no window bus) to Apia, walking over rocks along the beach, snorkel to see the beautiful underwater world, watching and helping traditional cooking... and and and...

I had an awesome time, felt always save, could relax a lot and had so much time to draw with a great view.

Sleeping in an open fale on a beautiful beach with the sound from the ocean away from tourism... With awesome food and a lovely helpfully family...

That is manusina beach fale!

Thanks for everything. :)

I am looking forward to see you again.

If you are prepared to rough it a little, Manusina Beach Fales should be your first choice. The open fales were delightful and waking up to uninterrupted views of the lagoon simply has to be experienced to be believed. Attention to detail from owners Teleo and Leilani is what sets this place apart, even to the extent of raking and smoothing the sand out front and removing seaweed that has washed ashore. The amenities are kept spotless, and though there is no hot water in the showers, it is not needed, even in the middle of 'winter'.
Leilani is a fabulous cook, with breakfast and dinner presented beautifully each day. Chilled coconuts are served straight from the fridge, as well as local beer and soft drinks.
Value for money is the key here and if experiencing the locals and their way of life is part of your itinerary, Manusina should be high on your list of places to stay.
