“Really Excellent Hotel - Stay Here - You Won't Regret It!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2011

After a disappointing experience at another hotel in Apia we transferred to Amanaki Hotel and we are so glad we did. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were so helpful and friendly and went the extra mile to give outstanding service. Travelling with kids is stressful but the Amanaki staff were so helpful! A few examples of this: 1 - Pre-booking a table at a restaurant (we had mentioned we wanted to go to that night) just so we wouldn't miss out on a excellent view! 2 - Making the bed with extra pillows down the side so our 3 year wouldn't fall out. 3 - Giving us a memory stick with 2 films on it for the kids to watch. 4 - Getting cocoa pops esp for the kids for breakfast. 5 - Helping with rental car bookings, giving invaluable local knowledge everyday when asked. The staff were just wonderful and we will recommend this hotel to everyone. Thanks so much Bev, Ioana and all the other lovely people who looked after us during our stay - we had such a great time! We were constantly amazed at what nice service we received. We feel very lucky to have stayed here! I should also mention that the restaurant/bar were great, pool is fab and perfect for kids, rooms are big and roomy and well equipped. Views from the rooms are fantastic. What more can I say? Stay here!

Just a quick comment ..and i say this with the upmost regret.. Ioana the receptionist was simply the best!! I was only in the Amanaki restaurant for a brief 10 mins to enquire about their dinner menu.. My husband and I wanted to throw a surprise thank you dinner for our family who live in Samoa Amanaki's was the first place we came across and instantly, Ioana greeted us with a smile and was extremely helpful.. I am now kicking myself as we chose to eat at Aggie Greys instead.. and boy do i regret it.. the meals were not only pricey..but we were left hungry after the course as the meals were made for small tummies..ie: with all due respect, made for palagi's..the only thing i can rate about Aggie Greys is the good fa'aili..(the band of guitaristsm) who serenaded our table especially. otherwise food at Aggie Greys was below average..looking back .. i wish i just went to Amanaki's...

As a frequent traveller to Samoa, I do find it difficult in choosing a place to stay.

The 3 of us have just returned back to COLD & BITTER NZ from a FANTASTIC holiday in SUNNY & TROPICAL SAMOA ... Our Holiday couldn’t have been the success that it was if we hadn’t stayed Amanaki Hotel.

As a frequent traveller to Samoa, I do find it difficult in choosing a place to stay.

When we met Ioana at reception, she greeted us with a smile and our first impression was that we would be treated as “Family” ... And sure enough, we became “Family” in a matter of seconds ... The minute we settled into our rooms, we felt at home ... Their rooms are stunningly beautiful with subtle hints of Samoan artwork and beautiful samoan flowers in the vase. The facilities available ie: Pool, Bar, resturant are GREAT ... We definitely got value for our money booking here!!!

Our first weekend in Apia we booked 2 x standard rooms, which accomodates up to 3 people(king Size bed + Single bed). They were a good size room with a TV, tea and coffee, bathroom had a large mirror, shower and basin, also a good size.
1 room was on level 1 with a balcony, great for just sitting there enjoying the harbour view, the other room was on the ground floor, with easy access to the pool. The pool was hardly ever used and felt like we were the only people staying there but of course it was booked out.

If you're hungry or thirsty, the bar is not too far away, they serve a great range of food which is reasonably priced and also taste great (thanks Chef). The guys and girls at the bar/resturant were always around to offer you another drink, see if you were ok, have a chat and laugh, just being themselves as well as remaining very professional in their work. It is obvious that they enjoy working there as they were always smiling.

After staying the weekend as we were travelling to other parts of Samoa, we decided that we would come back to Apia and stay with Amanaki again.

2nd Stay, 2 of us stayed in the delux room, which can accomodate up to 4 people (2 double beds), the room is bigger than the Standard size rooms.

Being recognised from the week before, the staff were happy to see us again, as NZ Samoan's we were able to communicate both in english and in Samoan. All staff can speak perfect english, so you wont have any challenges.

It's resonably priced in comparision to other over-rated places in Apia.
Perfect place to stay if you're a group of friends, a small family, or a corporate business person.

Amanaki is up and coming in Apia and everyone is starting to notice them for 1 thing.....their excellence in their customer service skills!
You may find a great hotel to stay in Apia, have the best views, the best food, but if the customer skills are not up to par then all that wont matter....I can guarantee you that you will have no issues with Amanaki, they will go out of their way to make sure you are well looked after during your stay.

Amanaki's examples of great customer service:
- Asked for extra towels as we went to the beach and out towels were still wet, the reception guy in the evening got them for us within 10 mins, big deal you say? You may want to read on other places in Apia, getting extra towels may cost you extra or you could be waiting forever for one and not get any at all.

- The boys at the bar were alway happy to run across the road to get us a cab whenever we needed one, big deal you say? Try running in 35 degree weather to grab a cab.

- Happy Hour on Fridays, they serve pupu (snacks) spring rolls, samoas etc, taro & banana chips to everyone, there is a great vibe on Friday evenings, great way to mix and mingle with some of the locals that have just finished work and having a few with their friends to unwind.

My Final thoughts ... I have travelled to Samoa sooooo many times and have stayed at many hotels and resorts including Aggies, Sinalei, Le Lagoto and Tusitala just so that I can see Samoa from another angle (Plus, I’m quite picky where I stay) ... These places I must admit were great, but in my opinion over-priced ... Amanaki offers the luxuries of the Western World with touches of Samoan Hospitality ... To me, this place encapsulates the true spirit of what a holiday should be ... A holiday should be ...

“a place where your mind should be fixated on rest and recreation, NOT the final invoice on completion of your stay”

Faafetai lava Bev & aiga, Ioana, all the bar and resturant team, the housekeeping ladies (faafetai for always making our beds, we tried every morning but not as good as you, for sweeping and mopping our floors) for making this trip to Samoa a memorable one ... I will be sure to book with you again

Malo Lava, wishing you every success in your business

Will Iopu

Firstly I'd like to say thank you to Lynnelle and her wonderful team, daughter Beverley, Iona and all the staff for not only their professionalism but for their overall attention to detail, the genuiness in their whole demeanour was a bonus! The hotel is certainly not overpriced as its next door neighbour Hotel Elisa. As a frequent traveller I do not mind paying a little extra if the Hotel and its staff are warming and hospitable. Lynelle has prided herself in opening up a Business in which it is not based on overcharging guests but in putting herself in her guests shoes at all times reminding her staff that if she/they would not stay at a place like that, why should her guests. Her families humility and kindness is a reflection of the overall appearance and ambience of the Hotel, its cleanliness, its open plan generous sized rooms, the pool, restaurant & food, makes this place a hidden paradise where good service & a smile are free. We booked x3 rooms and wished we had stayed there the whole time 10 days, however, we will be back! May you continue to be blessed in paying forward your kindness to your Guests, I rate this place the BEST I've been too in Samoa, well priced for what you get...its a bonus! Amanaki is certainly where I will be soon!

Room Tip: The closer to the Pool the better!!! And the taro Chips and Onion Dip is superb!!

We initially booked Amanaki for 5 nights, but having stayed only 1 night we decided straight away to extend our stay by an extra night! The place is absolutely awesome - cheap, spotless, spacious, great bathroom, aircon, awesome view of the swimming pool and Apia harbour. The swimming pool is clean and hardly ever occupied, with free banana branches right next to it. Definitely make sure to try their pina colada - it has pieces of real pineapple! The staff were always nice and friendly and the manager/owner went out of her way to help us. Tropical fruits in the included breakfast were so yummi and plentiful. There is a taxi stand right opposite so it's easy to get around. Top marks!!!

i absolutely loved my stay at amanaki, the staff were so attentive, polite and helpful. our rooms were cleaned daily to a standard my mother would be proud of beverly who is the owner was a pleasure to talk to and always took the time to see if our needs were met and recommended places to visit. the food was freshly made and presentation was a a+,we had previously stayed at another hotel which was a great disappointment so it was a pleasure to find a place at short notice, so to beverly and her staff a big kia ora to you all and i only wished that we had chosen your hotel from the start. i can highly recommend amanaki, you would not regret it.

Had the pleasure of staying at this Hotel for 9 days. Excellent accommodation, friendly staff and a great restaurant. We were privileged to be there for the first wedding held at Amanaki and what a beautiful venue. Bev and the staff went out of their way to acommodate all the guests and the resulting experience was fantastic.

The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. Bathrooms are good quality with great water pressure. We were on the 2nd floor with a great balcony and view of the ocean.

Great food and service at the restaurant, excellent fish and steak!

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Samoa.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, for quick access to the pool, go for ground level.
