Stayed there Sept.8,2009 rooms 5&6 and what a fantasic place.I went with a cousin from Ecuador who traveled with me to Banos and recommended La Posada De Arte.It felt more like staying at a friends/family house.Great price,breakfast,location.Marshia,the owner, was friendly,attentive.(I hope you feel better Marshia).And so was the staff....

We stayed at La Posada del Arte for three nights and loved it! The breakfasts were fabulous and gave us the lasting energy we needed to go white water rafting, shopping, and visiting the monkey sanctuary. Returning to the hotel after our adventurous days was a comforting and relaxing treat. Also, while I love Ecuador and travel there for the change in culture, it is refreshing to meet people from the U.S. like the lovely owners of this establishment. They told interesting stories and were very accommodating. Next time I will be sure to dine in more often as they have an exciting vegetarian menu beyond breakfast. I can't wait to go back!

I stayed at La Posada del Arte for five days in July of 2009. It was one of the best places I stayed during my two months traveling in Ecuador. The hotel was beautiful, the food was always delicious, especially the sumptuous breakfasts, and the attention from staff and the owners was always friendly and helpful. It is located just two blocks from one of the best baths in Baños with wonderful views of the nearby waterfalls visible from the balconies and rooftop terrace. It is aways from the center of town and so is quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend staying here.

Our group -- two parents and two teenagers -- spent three nights at Posada del Arte and loved it. This small hotel is located by a waterfall and volcanic baths at the edge of the walkable and friendly town of Baños. The atmosphere is cozy (fireplaces, extremely friendly staff and American owners, house dog curled up on the sofa) and rustic/colorful, with original Ecuadorian art everywhere. We've lived in Ecuador for a year, and we think this hotel's restaurant is one of the best in the country, combining the best of Ecuadorian food (fresh fruits and juices, fish, plantains, etc.) with extra touches of international flavor (adding garlic to the "patacones" - yum!). The prices for both the food and rooms were also extremely reasonable. We'll definitely be back!
