“Fantastico”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

If you are in Baños you have to go to a hotspring. This is probably the best. A beautiful view at the waterfall and serveral baths. From warm to really hot. In daytime it's $ 2 and in the evening $ 3 excluding a showercap, which costs 30 ct. There are changing rooms and you can give your personal items in a crate so that they secure. Between 4 pm and 6 pm it's closed for cleaning. I suggest to go at 7pm to avoid a queing and all the baths are full of water

“Good way to start the day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

I've been for the past 6 mornings, it can get really busy but its got amazing views of the waterfall and surrounding mountains. Its the highlight of the day for sure. If you need to be in a quieter place then hop in a taxi to 'el salado' hot springs..

“Vulcanic Bathing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We went with a taxi from the city centre, very much against closing time but due to enough knowledge of friendly "Castellano" words we had a warm welcome and were allowed in for another 45minutes. Most people were leaving already but we could stay in the hottest bath until we decided we had enough. No tourists were there at that time, only locals who enjoyed their hot evening bath as much as we did, and took pictures of us and enjoyed our company. Wich was both ways. Nice view with evening sunset, guarded by the Volcano...
Nice. Don't complain about wet clothes or dogdy cabins: after the bath you feel reborn and full of vitality! Great visit.

“Dont go there!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

We went to the baths on a friday evening, and it was VERY crowded. The changing rooms were all wet so it is difficult to keep your clothes dry. They demand all women to used caps. Some reviewers say the water is dirty, but it is not - the natural minerals make the water this colour, it is all natural and very healthy. However I have been to other baths so much better than this, with enough pools, good water temperature, saunas, showers etc. There were only 3 pools open when we were there. Boiling hot (I entered but had a sunburn, so could not stand it for more than 2 minutes - and I love boiling hot baths..), freezing cold or luke warm. So we entered the luke warm pool, which was so crowded with people it was difficult to not touch other people in there. There were also children that used the pool as a playground, splashing around. These pools are for soaking, not playing, they should have a childrens pool... There was a hot shower that did not really work when we were there, and a cold shower with water from the waterfall - not very tempting.. Did NOT enjoy, and I am NOT a snob (with reference to previous reviews...) - I just expect better as the town is called Banos (Bath). Unfortunately we did not have time to visit the other two baths in Banos, but I heard this one is the best one. The only thing positive is the view to the waterfall.
