“Outstandingly Good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

Fantastic little tapas restaurant and well worth searching out! My husband and I loved the freshly prepared seafood paella, the delectable tapa dishes, as well as the accompanying wine selections. Jose, the owner, was super friendly and made us feel right at home. He even served us after dinner aperitifs on the house from his special reserves! Only wish that we had found this restaurant much sooner during our four week Banos stay as we would have returned numerous times. We very strongly recommend a visit to this gastronomic delight early on in your visit.

“Great Tapas and Wine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

Really enjoyed our meal at La Tasca. We had a bottle of house wine and 4 tapas - great value. The meatballs were my favorite! They give you lots of bread as well - left pretty full. The owners were great - super friendly. Will be back

“Excellent Spanish Tapas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

We lived in Barcelona for a few years, so have been craving some quality Spanish food in Ecuador. We loved this little tapas place, very authentic; we ordered the pan con tomate (excellent), albondigas (favourite dish!), croquettes (yum), calamari, cheese plate and Serrano ham, all reasonably priced and so is the wine. The place is really chilled out and the owner is really friendly, very welcoming place in Banos!

“Great food great owner”

Great little tapas restaurant. Only about 6 tables in the whole place - and super glad we got one of them! Food was fantastic and the owner, Jose, regaled us with story after story!

“great food, engaging owner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

We read about this place and then by coincidence had it recommended by some fellow travellers at out hostal. It lived up to it's positive reviews. Pepe, the owner, and server engaged us in an interesting and ongoing dialogue which we encouraged and enjoyed. He wasn't pushy. Gave us some travel recomendations and info on the sourcing of his seafood and vegetables. Our tapas included pan con tomate with serrano, shrimps in garlic, calamari in olive oil and garlic, anchovies on bread, and a couple of baskets of bread to soak up the extra oils and sauces. A bottle of red malbec table wine, and a welcomed complimentary shot of a better quality aguardiente. A highlight dining experience in more than 4 months of travelling in Peru and Ecuador.
