We read about this place and then by coincidence had it recommended by some fellow travellers at out hostal. It lived up to it's positive reviews. Pepe, the owner, and server engaged us in an interesting and ongoing dialogue which we encouraged and enjoyed. He wasn't pushy. Gave us some travel recomendations and info on the sourcing of his seafood and vegetables. Our tapas included pan con tomate with serrano, shrimps in garlic, calamari in olive oil and garlic, anchovies on bread, and a couple of baskets of bread to soak up the extra oils and sauces. A bottle of red malbec table wine, and a welcomed complimentary shot of a better quality aguardiente. A highlight dining experience in more than 4 months of travelling in Peru and Ecuador.
