“Fabulous hotel in great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

This is a very nice hostel with great rooms, awesome atmosphere and great location. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The hammocks on both the first and second floor are a nice touch and give a sense of relaxation.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms are the quietest and have great views.

First time in Banos, and I enjoyed it. The hotel was a very warm, very helpful staff, very willing to help where needed, comfortable and welcoming facilities: wifi available, cable TV, beautiful yard, garage, delicious full breakfast, very central location and the close to everything. Definitely coming back, we felt at home. Rodrigo, wait for us soon ..

My wife and I spent several days in Banos, Ecuador. During our time in Banos we stayed at the La Floresta Hotel. This hotel is built around a beautiful courtyard looking out at one of the many waterfalls that are found in and around Banos. It is beautiful. The rooms met our needs. The breakfasts that are included with the room were excellent. But the most impressive part of our stay at this hotel was the staff. Every member of the staff at this hotel went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

You can not do better than this hotel for a place to use as your base as you explore Banos.

My wife and I stayed at La Floresta for three nights and would give the hotel and staff an outstanding rating. On arrival the first evening, we realized that we had left our passports and credit cards in a hotel about 100 miles away. Rodrigo, who was attending the front desk, took it upon himself assist us. He spent well over an hour making phone calls and coordinating the return of the passports. The following morning the passports were in our hands. He was incredibly accommodating and helpful. Without his assistance, we would have been driving our rental car back to the previous hotel. Rodrigo deserves recognition for his great effort. I would also say the other staff members were always accommodating and friendly as well.

The hotel was perfect for us. It is located near most of the eateries, tour companies, shops, etc, but not noisy. Although it is a relatively large hotel, they provided a great breakfast, rooms were clean and appeared almost new, Wi-Fi was available, and was priced appropriately. We looked at approximately 10 different hotels before deciding on the La Floresta and would say it is a very good value.

If in Banos and looking for a nice place to stay at a reasonable price with a great staff, I have to recommend La Floresta.

Room Tip: Cannot comment on which rooms are best, but ours was upstairs in the middle of the hotel - all was g...

Nice clean hotel with an excellent staff. Nice ambience typical of modern Ecuador. A really good breakfast and a lovely patio. They offer a nice selection of colorful artifacts. This is an excellent base for exploring the rainforest.

Room Tip: The inside rooms adjacent to the patio may be quieter since we did not hear any ot the early morning...

We happened upon place hotel when we arrived in Banos late one night. We had done some research on places to stay here, but hadn't booked. The late hour of arrival was a concern, but we saw this hotel and they had a room so we decided to stay for one night... this turned into four nights!! Banos is known for it's extreme sports type activities, but that shouldn't deter you from coming as there is lots to see and tours that are available. The breakfast was excellent with scrambled, eggs, ham, bread, fruit, cereal, yogurt, etc. available. The bed was very comfortable. The only two downfalls were the small quantity of hot water (only one person got hot water unless you waited for a bit) and the two schools across the road that start the day at 7:00 am with VERY loud music and loud speaker talking. If you are an early bird then this won't bother you at all. Overall we were very happy here and would recommend it. We had a second story room... maybe a main floor would have less sound carry in from the school... just a thought. They have five parking spaces behind a locked gate and very good WiFi.

Myself and my 3 young adult daughters showed up in the morning at 10:30am with no reservation. We were given a room with 4 beds (HEAVEN) that were actually comfortable. Please note that most of the beds in Ecuador are HARD (at least in accommodations that are $80-$100 per night). The shower was excellent as well. We were able to check in immediately! The property is beautiful, right in town and you can have your laundry done for a reasonable price.
