We just returned from a whirlwind trip to Argentina, which included a few days down in Ushuaia. We booked on-line with the owners (Sebastian and Maria) about a month before our arrival. Maria responded to our emails so quickly and provided many helpful tips and recommendations about excursions while we were in Ushuaia.
From the complimentary pick-up at the airport to painstaking attention to all of the details, we truly enjoyed our time while at Tierra de Leyendas. It is a beautiful B&B located on a hill with amazing views of the Beagle Channel and the mountains. We were welcomed with glasses of wine, chocolates for valentine's day, and delicious buffet breakfasts. It was the warmest hospitality from any hotel that we have ever stayed in. The owners truly made us feel special - we even received a special private lesson on Mate (the national drink) during one of our breakfasts.
The only negative comment (not really a downfall) is it's location - it is about 4 km away from town and about a 12 pesos cabride (about 10 minutes). If you are interested in being in the center of Ushuaia - this b&b is not within walking distance. We went into town every night after our daily excursions and actually did not find it to be a downfall - we were able to come back to a warm and inviting environment, away from the touristy downtown area. Anytime we needed a cab, the staff would promptly contact one; we never waited more than 5 minutes for a cab to arrive.
Other perks include free internet access and tons of free DVD's to borrow...
