A true experience of beauty and tranquility. The place spotless and warm. Spacious and inviting bed rest. Abundant hot water for a refreshing bath after the cold rides. Set back from the center, offers a view of Lake Argentino from every room. All details care. Excellent care provided by the owners of the place-

After days hiking around the Fitzroy and staying in El Chalten, Roble Sur offered us a wonderful welcome. It was charming, service was very friendly and drinking wine in the look-out room with the views was magical. Thoroughly recommend this hotel!

We had to stay in this hotel because the original hotel we would be staying at, had a water problem. We would be staying for only 3 nights but because of a national (airline)strike we had to stay 3 extra nights. We struck gold. Mariana and Ricardo made us feel very welcome from the moment we crossed the doorstep, nothing was too much for them to make us feel 'at home'. Nice and clean room, good breakfast and dinner. Fantastic view and only a 10-15 minutes walk into town. And on a more personal note Ricardo's cognac was the best David had ever tasted. Higly recommended!

The hotel appeared like it had just been renovated. The beds were clean and the pillows were amazingly fluffy. The bathrooms were also very clean and bright.
The place is located slightly out of town up on a hill therefore, you have amazing views of the lake behind the town but it is a hike into town which isn't great at night.
The only annoyance was that the owners wanted to make all the money from us as possible trying to charge for small extras including getting annoyed when we requested a second glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. In addition, she refused to let us eat in the rooms (possibly why they are so pristine).

Overall, a great hotel.

We stayed at the above B&B for 5 days. The rooms are clean, the hospitality is superb, we think genuine. The access to town is a 10 minute walk, or a cab can be organised. Mariana is a superb cook and hostess, and Ricardo has a wonderful twinkle in his eye. He certainly keeps things moving.
Given our experiences with the difficulties faced in travelling in South America, this place offers unique value.
Age groups are no issue, with 7 rooms, there is good space. Plenty of reading and relaxing areas. A good aspect over the Lake and town.

Room Tip: All rooms are upstairs, no advantage (or disadvantage) with any of them. Good insulation between r...

Hello,
Roble Sur is a small hotel but has a great service. All the staff is there to help you to make a good time of your days in El Calafate.
The rooms are big and beds are very confortable, but without TV. Many nice objects for decoration in all the hotel.
Very good small restaurant in place.

My wife and I were met at the Calafate airport by our hosts who transported us and our luggage to the hostel. We were shown our room which was simply but elegantly appointed.
The accommodation was extremely neat and very clean. In the morning we were served a wonderful assortment of breakfast choices....cereal, yogurt, croissant, breads, freshly squeezed orange juice, milk, coffee, tea, butter, jam and dulce de leche spread. There is a computer available for guest use. The whole experience was one of being taken care of as one of the family without being overbearing.
