They pick you up early in the AM, bus you out to the glacier, put you on a boat to cross the lake (and see the leading face of the glacier), drop you off on the other side where they put crampons on you and lead you on this wonderful trek. The color of the ice blows you away. The whisky toast on the glacier, 200 yards from the end, is a nice touch.
Good reviews led me to make reservations. Their online site is attractive, but they don't know how to bill. You have to make a copy of a form, fill it in with CC info, scan it and return it as a pdf attachment to an email. This is my only criticism.
If you take photos, underexpose slightly as that will give better digital photos.
Bathrooms available before and after the trek.
Bring a nice lunch.
