“Delicious meal, well priced, relaxed yet formal atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

La Posta was a delicious restaurant serving up Argentinian fare. My husband ordered a small steak (big enough for lunch the next day); best so far in Argentina. Vegetarian options were limited, but they worked with me to make a delicious gnocchi dish. Service, all in Spanish, was excellent. The restaurant was formal, yet relaxed and many were dressed casually. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

“Patagonian lamb at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

We have been told about Patagonian lamb but have been unsuccessful in finding a place that seems to do it authentically until last night. We were staying in Posada Ls Alamos hotel and read good reviews of La Posta and as it was part of the hotel we decided to have a look and there were 2 lambs just being turned on the spit. We were informed that it would be 50 minutes before they would be carved so we settled down for a comfortable drink and relax. We started with the carpaccio which was very good. Then they carved the lamb before us and we chose the cut we desired still pink. Never have I tasted lamb to equal it and being Australian we know how good lamb can be. The serving was huge but we managed to devour every morsel. The ribs that were added over the meat were devine and the meat fell off the bone. We chose grilled vegetables as our choice of three alternatives and these really set off the meal. The service was prompt friendly and professional. A suggested Malbec set the scene for a wonderful experience. All in all a memorable meal and experience. It equalled the filet of beef we had in Baraloche. We can now say we have been there and done that and may you enjoy the experience we have.

“Better than La Tablita!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

I was surprised and pleased by the quality of food in El Calafate. On our first day in town we decided to dine at the closest restaurant that was still open at 9 PM on Christmas Day and La Posta fit the bill. What a great choice! The rabbit stew with gnocchi I ate was the best dish I had in Argentina and my travel-mates said the lamb and steak they had at La Posta were better than the same dishes that we had at La Tablita the next night (even though La Tablita is much more crowded and has a much longer wait). Their Chimichuri sauce was fantastic as well.

“Best restaurant. Good food. Excellent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Best restaurant in El Calafate.. Reservations recommended. Good food & excellent service. Location near main street in front of Casino. Despite elegant environment, it is quite unformal atmosphere. Great Marbec vine by the glass. Clients are mostly tourists from Hotel Los Alomos.

“Best in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

This place serves really good food! And though its not the cheapest, it is quite affordable. The very professional staff also find it normal if you wish to share anything. We liked the food so much, we came back again. And so did some other French visitors and you know that says something. Some tips: the empanadas, tasty and crusty, bife de chorizo (best I ever had in Argentina) and amazing gnocchi's. O and the vulcan dessert made of 3 different types of chocolate. The only thing I wouldnt recommend is the grilled chicken. Finally, dont be put off by the classy environment, guests dress quite casual.
