This was the worst accommodation in seven months of travel. If you check out Hostelbookers you see some nice pictures, but the reality of the double with ensuite is seen in our pictures. This room cost $31US per night. The most expensive room in the hostel. A joke!
So what was so bad? It is really a converted garage. Out the back of the main house, concrete floor, no covering, no privacy due to the lack of dark curtains on the windows and that it is joined by a door with an opaque window to the breakfast/common room. So the noise and light floods into your room. Combine this with no curfew, 3 am pissed louts, and you have a great sleep.
But it has a nice shower? No. It is toilet with a shower head sticking out of the wall.
But it has a good bed? No. The mattress had collapsed on one side and smelt must and unaired.
But breakfast is delicious? No. Some bread, jam, butter and a tea/coffee. We had much better for only a couple of dollars in town.
