Thi is our 4th visit to the region of San Carlos de Bariloche. It seems that this place is attracting us magnetically. Having visited the region between San Martin de los Andes and Bariloche before, incl. stays at such well known places like the LlaoLLao, Design Suites, the Aldebaran or Las Balsas (Villa LaAngostura) we felt entitled to write a review about what we have EXPERIENCED TO BE THE TRUE (and probably BEST) IN PATAGONIAN HOSPITALITY.
Through a close friend we have only recently heard of an absolute insider's tip in Bariloche. A place kept so secrectly it doesn't need a webpage. With only 5 magnificient rooms THE POSADA LOS JUNCOS was a true eye opener for us and a refreshing experience when comparing to all the other standard and me-too hotels along avenida Bustillo.

When arriving to the Posada we couldn't help but feel welcomed and 'at home' from the first second. The extremely cozy decoration (by the owner, a famous designer living in Buenos Aires) lacks of everything that normally reminds you of a hotel. There is no lobby or reception, only a huge and dead comfortable living room where afternoon tea and italian (!!!) coffee is served and where Flavia - the manager - will explain tonite's menus or brief you on your activties. Our room was very nicely decorated and very spacious (3 bathrooms!), which came handy as we were travelling with our 10 month old baby boy. The view on the lake Nahuel Huapi was very charming, especially in the morning when waking up and during breakfast. The place was very quiet and clean all times and the food was fresh and well prepared. But what we've loved most about LOS JUNCOS was the fact that WE NEVER ACTUALLY FELT AT A HOTEL. Even though there was no huge SPA or Concierge, Flavia would satisfy all our request and read from our lips. Private massage in the room, our preferred meal and hell she would even lend us her Blockbuster card to select a movie! And that all for a room rate which would make us almost feel bad....
For us there is only one place in Bariloche we can recommend with a pure heart and mind, a place where you will allways want to come back: LOS JUNCOS - THX FLAVIA!
