“Amazing steak and appetizers. Cute warm atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014 via mobile

I have had many great steaks at expensive restaurants in the United States and more expensive places in Argentina. But this small cozy restaurant is right up there with the best of them. Needed no sauce or anything on my magnificent Ribeye, and my girlfriend thought her filet mignon was the best she ever had. The baked cheese appetizer was amazing as well. I dont recall the name, but it started with a P and they only have one appetizer that isn't an empanada. :)

Highly recommended!

“Best of all”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

Having completed a 5+ week of vacation in South America, this restaurant was the simply best. Reservation is needed if you don't like to wait for a table.

Excelent place, meat is superb, prices are not high (though not cheap) and service is wonderful. Try the "entrania"

“Excellent Steak”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

Living in New York, I have eaten in many of the best steakhouses to be found anywhere. Alto el Fuego challenges all of them. Yes, it's a little difficult to find. Yes, you should make a reservation. Many people were turned away during our meal, testament to the restaurants well deserved popularity. But, despite these minor challenges, the meal rewards.

We had both the rib eye and skirt steak. Both were cooked perfectly, el punto. The meat was incredibly flavorful and tender. My mouth is watering just reflecting on the meal.

Salad, french fries and a bottle of Malbec rounded out the meal which came to a very reasonable 80 USD.

If you are a carnivore who appreciates excellent grilled meat, do not miss this restaurant if you visit Bariloche.
