“An Ecellent Hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

I stayed as part of a group recently. I loved my huge and beautiful double room. I enjoyed delicious food and wine for the two nights I stayed. Staff in the dining room and reception were friendly and professional. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and would return to stay, if I came back to Bariloche.

Stayed at this hotel on our organised tour of Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

The hotel is well situated, and for most folk was probably comfortable enough. But we were there (2 nights) in warm weather and the hotel is not air conditioned (I don't think any in Bariloche are). We were allocated a room at the bottom of a small internal 4-storey courtyard, and the temperature was circa 35C in the room throughout. Extremely uncomfortable.

On our arrival, quite late after an excellent day trip from Puerto Montt Chile by 4 buses and 3 boats, we had a bar snack. Just, because the barman was very unwelcoming and surly. Otherwise staff very friendly.

Room would probably have been fine had it lookes outwards rather than inwards.

Room Tip: Refuse to accept any room low down in an internal courtyard. Room 116 where we were billeted was hug...

Edelweiss Hotel is an excellent choice if you're looking for a no frills hotel in the Bariloche area. It is very centrally located and is walking distance to anything in the town. Rooms were comfortable and the view from our window was spectacular! The staff is extremely friendly and helped us plan our 3 day stay! Also, the pool on the penthouse floor was absolutely perfect after a long day of bike riding. Gorgeous.

However, the hotel can use a bit of an update, as the drab wooden walls and furniture are outdated.

We chose the Edelweiss because of its convient location in town. There were plenty of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance, which was important to us since we did not have a car. The hotel is on a busy street and does not have air conditioning, so the room got stale quickly. We were lucky to get a room with a ceiling fan, as it would have been much to noisy if we had to keep the windows open. I think the hotel would be well advised to install air conditioning, not only for cooling but also to keep outside noise out. Our room was spacious and comfortable enough but we would have liked to have had air conditioning. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant except for the included breakfast, which was OK but nothing special. However, the friendly desk staff recommended several nice restaurants. The best part of this hotel is the friendly and helpful staff. Isabella in particular went out of her way to be helpful. Our only real problem was with communication before arrival. I emailed the hotel several times for information about tours, car rentals, etc. and never got an answer. But as mentioned, the staff was great once we got there.

Room Tip: If you are in Bariloche in the summer make sure to ask for a room with a ceiling fan. Not all rooms...

Spent the Christmas' week in there because Soft Bariloche Hotel was closed during the 2 weeks we own there (they didn't tell us in advance) and I am grateful we choose to stay. The staff is great, from the reception to the last waiter or made. I used the gym, the spa and the swimming pool everyday. Breakfast was great and I need to mention the "empanadas criollas" they serve at the bar "El Patio". Best empanadas criollas I've ever had in Argentina, period! One of the best hotels in this city, if not the best. Looking forward to come back soon

Arrived from Iguazu Falls via Buenos Aires after a delay of five hours so I was feeling a bit tetchy. The reception girl was so helpful and friendly that my bad mood melted away in no time. We were taken to our room which had a top view over the lake and was very well appointed. Breakfast was the usual buffet but I have to say it was more than decent. The hotel is in the town centre, so everything was nearby and the hotel bar was a fine place for a beer before bedtime. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

The comfortable rooms, central location and the helpful staff made this stay great. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy when the bars let out, but this is (sort of) a party town.

The hotel is within easy walking distance to restaurants and attractions.
