One of the best hotels I`ve ever been too, for sure among my top five !. An historic building in a breathtaking place, facing a lake, mountains and a great golf course, what else you can ask for?
Service was above average, although not excellent, we had a minor complain during our stay, but after a couple of months when I close my eyes remembering that piece of heaven, I can`t even remember about this little detail.
Hope to come back again, again and again. Trust me, one of those amazing places difficult to find.

The room rate at this hotel is expensive. We stayed in a standard room, which looked much larger than the picture on the website. It was in the old Bustillo wing, which we thought was more convenient for the swimming pool, and restaurants. The room was quiet and clean with a good selection of the hotel's own lavender toiletries. One disadvantage was the lack of air con. We were able to open the windows which had mesh to stop insects but as the weather was very hot a/c would have been good.
Although the room rate was expensive the food and drink was about 25-50% of the cost of a similar hotel in the UK. The glasses of wine were very large-one was more than enough. Breakfast was good, although the cooked selection was small if that is important to you. The breakfast room was crowded on weekend days.
The hotel is about 30-40 minutes out of Bariloche, so not a great base for exploring the town, and slightly further to the airport. We only saw Bariloche briefly but I did not feel I missed much.
What I enjoyed most of all about the hotel was the scenery. Set between two lakes almost every room has a lake view. The grounds are incredibly beautiful. We enjoyed the free activities programme. There was something for everyone, guided hikes, bike rides, indoor and outdooor aerobic sessions, windsurfing lessons, bird watching, tango lessons and yoga. I'm sure I have forgotten some.
With the onsite scenery, the activities programme, canoes to borrow and a lovely indoor outdoor swimming pool we never left the hotel except for occasional hikes in the area. I'm sure we missed stunning scenery but we were very happy to rest for a few days on a busy tour of Argentina.
If this hotel were in the UK, or even Europe I would come regularly. I am glad to have experienced it and would recommend anyone touring Argentina to try to stop off here.
One complaint- as in many big hotels the price of water is ridiculous. Bring some. Argentinean airlines don't have the liquid rule, and there is a small grocery near the hotel to top up.

The location, of this hotel is probably one of the most beautiful in the world, all the facillities are also a very big plus, the swimming pool has stunnig views, the breakfast was rich and tasty (fresh juices, pancakes, waffles, eggs...), they should watch for the COFFEE wich was horrible, really undrinkable...
the service is amazing, everyone overthere is extremelly polite and careful, the minus of the hotel are the rooms, we took a suite, upgrade from the lake view room and when we got to the room we got really really disappointed, the room was old style, big, but they dont invest in the rooms at all, it only had a small window, ok facing to the amazing lake, but still small...I wouldnt sleep there again, you can have all the views just going to the llao llao area, the 500 dollars we spent a night we could easy spend a third on another hotel and use the money for something else...
I would recommend this hotel if you are 50 years plus,if you like the status that a place can give or like to be around rich people...

The Llao Llao hotel is located in what I can only describe as one of the most stunning beautiful locations I have visited. The whole region around Bariloche is breathtaking and staying at this hotel caps any trip there by putting yourself right in the middle of the scenery.

The service is absolutely top notch, there is a full golf course on the property and there a wide range of activities organised every day.

On the down side - the rooms themselves are not exactly luxurious. Think homely B&B rather than top end hotel. Also the food in the hotel is not great for what you pay. I'd recommend trying some of the nearby restaurants instead such as Butterfly (highest rated TA restaurant in South America!) and Restaurante El Frances, both of which are outstanding.

Also, the hotel is really quite some distance from Bariloche town, maybe a 45 minute drive or so. It can be a bit difficult both getting into town and to the above mentioned food options. Think about hiring a car while you are here so you can come and go at will and also explore the region at your own pace

What a magnificent place! Our family of four stayed in adjoining rooms at Llao Llao the week after New Years. We were upgraded to lake view rooms in the original section. We didn't begrudge the small rooms, especially since the views from our windows were breathtaking and endlessly changing. The recreation desk was very helpful; we wound up on a resort-led bike ride on Circuito Chico as well as a resort-led hike to Refugio Lopez. Both were extraordinary. The fitness center was also top-notch as was the selection of water craft on the lake. We took advantage of the free rounds of golf given to us, though the rental clubs (while of high quality) and other incidentals added up fast. As for the food, having breakfast overlooking the grounds was spectacular and the array of choices and stations was great. We wound up taking most of our dinners outside the resort, going by cab one night into Bariloche (went to the brewery and then restaurant Kandahar, both memorable) and one night to the restaurant Cassis on Lake Guitierrez, which was fantastic, though by far our most expensive meal in Argentina (around $80 a person). Interestingly, neither of these off-resort restaurants took credit cards. The concierge desk was wonderful in helping us arrange a number of excursions. We would return to Llao Llao in an instant.

The hotel and the surroundings are just beautiful. It is hard to describe. We stayed in a standard room that had a small window but a nice view to the gardens and the lake. The room was tastefully decorated but maybe too warm in the night. Rustic elegance and impeccable service. We spent three wonderful days there.

My husband and I brought our 7 and 8 year old children here for a 3-night stay in January 2011 (their summer). We were very happy with Llao Llao. This is a historical and beautiful hotel with a very modern new wing. The grounds were lovely and the pool with the backdrop of the mountains was spectacular. The food was really excellent and there is a choice of three dining rooms. My kids enjoyed the kids club and we relaxed, had massages and went on hikes. I only have positive things to say and would definitely recommend this hotel. If you go here, I highly recommend doing a quick trip to the ski lift that takes you up a nearby mountain to see the lakes and countryside from the top of the mountain. The view was incredible.
