“Best lamb dish on our 12 weeks in South America”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Yummy! I had the Patagonian Lamb served with rosemary and honey sauce, and chose some mash potato & squash sides. It was delicious. The waitress was kind enough to tell me I didn’t need to order two full sides (one squash, one potato) but I could do half and half. The lamb portion was massive. My fiancé had the wild boar stew which was also extremely good. For desert we had the degustation, also delicious. There is a great selection of wine too. It wasn’t that busy but we can’t understand why – low season I suppose. The staff were excellent.

“Very good choice in Bariloche”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

Nice, trendy decor . The Juaja is a favorite in Bariloche. We ordered one meal to share and they delivered the largest milaneses I've ever seen ! Excellent quality.

“Bad Business Management”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

We were two couples who were recommended by our hotel in Bariloche to visit this restaurant. Our first impression was good but that's about all. We ordered and when the food arrived my husband received the wrong order. The waitress angrily took his plate back as though we were to blame for their mistake. The rest of us began eating and about 25 minutes later they brought my husband his order, which to our utter amazement was again the wrong dish!! Twice they brought us Veal Milaneze when the order was for Chicken Milaneze!! This was the limit. The rest of us had already finished our meal so upon returning this order again we cancelled the dish. One would think that after complaining to the manager on duty he would have given us a "compensation" in the form of a dessert or coffee on the house. But no... A measily apology and we were on our way. This is not the way to treat customers! A very disappointing evening!

“Must try the Patagonian Lamb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We came here at the recommendation of our host at our B&B, and we're so glad we did! The decor is plain but stylish. You could come here with friends or just for a date and fit in fine. But the food stands out above all else. The flavor of the chorizo still makes me drool when I think of it, and the Patagonian lamb was excellent. So juicy and so flavorful, no sauces required. The boiled potatoes were so simple but cooked to perfection. We also had some creamed Swiss Chard (they ran out of spinach) which was a nice addition. But the meat is definitely what shines here. We were told to pass on the deer, so I don't know how that is, but if it's anything like the lamb, it couldn't have been bad! We didn't get to try dessert, because we were so full. A great last dinner in Bariloche.

“Homey, Argentine cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Jauja is a great place to sample Argentine cuisine. The dishes are very homey, including many kinds of stews. My stewed wild boar was especially delicious: mildly but nicely flavored, slightly pink, and melting. The portions are very generous and the sides are also tasty, particularly the creamed spinach and the pumpkin puree. There are many options here-it's the kind of restaurant that has something for everyone. Nothing too special about the decor and atmosphere though. Good, efficient service.
