Peninsula valdes is penguins, whales, birds, but also see elephants. Near Punta Delgada there is at least one large colony, at it is a great visit.
Make sure you have the fuel tank full, distances are deceptive on the map.
Just drive from Puerto Piramides to Punta Delgada on the dirt road, it is an easy drive when dry, then at the Lighthouse ask for the see elephant colony, there are guided tours with a fee. It is about 15 mins drive on a 4x4 vehicle to get there, then a short walk and down from the cliff (almost) to the beach, at safety distance. There were al least a hundred see elephants there, with dominant males, young ones, females and babies.
It is a great visit, you may spend a lot of time just watching the groups and the male's strategies to conquer the females, the harem protection and some fights.
Recommended to wildlife lovers and photographers.
