Stayed there in FEB 2008 It is a nice hotel well priced and great location overlooking SALTA. We have to say the food at the main resaurant was excellent and we had a suite which was great for 2 adults and two children. Its a 10 min walk into town. The staff was great , One gal actually babysat for us one night which was amazing!

The pool is great again having a nice oasis to come back to after a day in the country or touring is nice. The hotel has a Casino attached and a ATM and a nice bar. Very accomdating and friendly place.

After a few weeks for small, slightly dodgy hotels in Argentina we decided to book a major chain hotel in Salta. We were very pleased with the service, the room and in particular the view from the room and terrace. Let's face it, at times it's actually very nice to relax in a large, well equipped, anonymous hotel. Living with the locals has its limits.

Also - a great location for walking around the city.

Loved Salta too - although it does take a bit of walking around to find the good bits.

Stayed here for 4 nights in November. The hotel is great value and is in a great location. The hotel staff is VERY friendly and helpful. They offered everything that you need in a hotel.

Sheraton Salta is also the best if you want to go in summer. The swimming pool is great with a view over the city of Salta.

Salta is a nice town, deserving of no more than one full day of sightseeing. It is the province of Salta that should occupy more of your time. As such, the Sheraton Salta is a perfectly adequate base from which to explore Salta town.

The biggest negative of this hotel are the rooms, which are cookie-cutter to the nth degree. There is no flair, no design feature indicating you are in Argentina. You could be in Des Moines until you look out the window. The views, as other reviews have said, are nice.

The Sheraton is located in a nice residential area on a hillside. The walk to town is about 10-15 minutes. If you prefer, a cab ride is 5 minutes and costs less than 2 USD.

We did not have breakfast in the hotel, nor did we use any fitness facilities, both of which would have cost extra. The pool area looked nice enough and offered great views over the city.

In sum, this is a perfectly nice hotel--unfortunately, it lacks character and any real sense of luxury.
