This little hotel was only about £21 per night and our room was big and spotless with a good-sized bathroom with a shower. There was free internet access in the hallway and a nice breakfast of croissants and bread with jam was served in a sunny courtyard.
There was a secure car-park next door for which we paid 10 pesos a day to park our car.
The hotel was located on one of the best streets in Salta with a great Empanada restaurant next door and close to a fantastic restaurant 'El Solar del Convento' where we had the best steak in Argentina. One night we went to a music venue, 'La Vieja Esticion' which was a great place for local music.
Salta itself isn't a nice town and not worth spending more than a night there. Ignore all the advice in the forums about not driving yourself as we found the roads to be very easy to drive on, well sign-posted, all paved and with very little traffic. I think the guides are just trying to get business for themselves.
