“Fascinating insight to ancient cultures!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

The eccentric and entertaining Diego enthused us with his passion for ancient South American art. This delightful private museum contains many interesting and some rather bizarre artefacts. These included pictures of Jesus on the cross wearing a lace skirt and others of angels brandishing muskets. There's some beautiful silver and textiles all beautiful displayed. A small compact museum, the Pajcha is a must see in Salta.

“If you are interested in the history of the indigenous people of Argentina, start here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

I was welcomed warmly by Diego, the English-speaking guide at the Pajcha museum. He provides an illuminating and thought-provoking tour of the collection of ceramics, textiles, costumes, jewellery, paintings, photographs and other items which span several hundred years. My visits to the cathedral in Juyjuy and to the tiny churches of the northwest were also enriched by the time I spent in the museum.

“Unexpected find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

As a family of four we loved this museum. We had an English guide who brought it to "life" and made it even more interesting. We ended up spending way more time there than we had anticipated. A definite highlight of Salta.

“Impossible not to love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2012

I agree with almost everything other reviewers have said about the museum and about Diego. The personal explanations he gives and the enthusiasm alone are worth the time. The collection is outstanding. I can't quite agree with the comment that this is the best museum in Salta however - although it depends on what your interests are, I found two others of equal interest and quality. The point is, don't spend all your time shopping!

“A very nice collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012 via mobile

A museum you should not miss. It has a very nice collection of pre-Inca artifacts and items from Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile ... We got an excellent tour and I would highly recommend a visit.
