“Strange setup - Suites need updated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

I stayed four nights at this hotel while on a business trip. First off, I had reserved an updated suite. While checking in there was no acknowledgement of Platinum status. I received a king suite on the sixth floor. The front desk gave me instructions to the room but failed to mention that the suites building is not directly connected to the main building. You have to exit the main building and walk thru the pool area where the chairs and bathers are to reach the back where there is an exterior elevator for the suite rooms. The suite has all outside corridors. There is one the strangest set ups I have ever seen. The restaurant, bar and other amenities are in the main building but by staying in the suite building, you are cut off from them except for walking outside thru the pool gauntlet area. The room itself was clean but outdated. There was visible mold on the front door frame. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom has a very low ceiling due to an add on drop ceiling. Bathroom is very outdated. Staff was friendly and admitted that other guests have complained about the hotel setup with no interior access to the suite rooms. If you stay here, I would not pay a lot of money, it is a very average hotel. I did not eat at the restaurant or bar. I figured if I had to go outside from my room, I might as well go out to a restaurant.

Room Tip: If you stay at the hotel. Stay in the main building. Avoid the suites building in the back.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013 via mobile

On business trip, a good bed to sleep is important. I slept through on most night even though I am on jetlag. Breakfast is the same everyday so not exciting but u can otherwise grab a free coffee in the lobby or brew one in your room. Counter service was nice especially with Iris who offer to get some grocery for me once she knew I did not have a car. It's good value and service.
Walmart was not far to walk to too.

We found our accommodations to be adequate and comfortable. The staff was helpful and courteous, and our room was reasonably priced and clean. The pool area was especially nice. Our room overlooked the pool.We will likely return again.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

I'm not sure where to start with this place. I feel a little bad complaining about having a roof over my head, but I paid good money ($160 a nt during Spring Break) for a low quality room.

Short version: don't pay more than $70 a night for this run down property.

Long version: read below.

First room:
We stayed in the suites of the second tower. AC didn't work, no door on closet, dried blood on curtain, single sheet supplied for sofa bed. We were moved after calling the front desk about the AC issue. Was told the engineer would be up to check out the issue. Received a call back about 20 min later saying that they weren't supposed to book people in that room because of the known AC problem, and moved us to another room.....at 11pm at night.

Second room:
AC works- THANK YOU!, closet door won't close (comes off hinges), still only a single sheet supplied for sofa bed, no bags in trash cans, plastic shower knobs with a very confusing operation, scalding hot water coming from shower- do NOT let your children adjust the water by themselves, water stains (mold?) in corner of the outdated shower, doors to bedroom and bathroom won't shut due to swelling, front door won't stay closed, I'm not confident in the cleanliness of the room at all

The housekeeping is confusing. For our first cleaning, it seems the housekeeper quit in the middle of our room- the bedroom and bathroom were clean/made up, but the sofa bed wasn't even touched. Second cleaning was great. Third day's cleaning was non-existent. When we returned to our room at 4pm to find it in the same condition we left it, we called the front to tell them and also ask for a thicker cover for the sofa bed. We were told they would send someone up. We go to the pool to let the person clean in private. Come back at 6, no cleaning. A very nice lady finally came at 6:30pm. We just exchanged our towels and trash bags and let her move on. We had to ask her for the thicker cover and she had someone bring it up to us later on.

The area is just a small jump from some really sketchy neighborhoods.

Nice pool.

Laundry services on second floor of the main bldg, but you need to go to the first floor vending machine to buy your soap??? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Every day we've been here I've looked for other properties to move to. Unfortunately, being spring break and spring training week, everything else in our price range was/is booked. Can't wait to check out of here tomorrow and never come back. Such an unfortunate waste of my money and a real drag on the Holiday Inn/Priority Club name.

We booked this room through Priceline and were so disappointed at what we got for the price. It was rated a three star but the pictures looked good. We usually only bid on 4 star but being spring break I guess availability was limited. We paid $102 a night and this turned out to be an abomination. Nice pool, nice lobby, good location. Rooms are no better than a 2 star hotel. Don't pay more than $50 per night.
