“All taste, no pretense”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012 via mobile

This is "plate lunch" food at its best. For 25 years, Ray has been running the Aloha Kitchen the same friendly way. The bulkogi beef, teri and Katsura chicken taste the same as they did in the beginning. The potato mac salad is second to none. There is not a plate that costs over $10. Most are under $7.

The best Hawaiian food in AZ. If you want lesser tasting food at 4 times the price then go to Roy's.

“Great Hawaiian Food in Arizona”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2012

Like being back in Hawaii at a local eatery or grocery store, Aloha Kitchen is a must for those who crave good Hawaiian food. Servings are large and tasty, reasonably priced and always delicious at this Mesa eatery located on the west side of Alma School between Eliot and Guadalupe. Local folks who live in the Mesa area always smile when they hear Aloha Kitchen because they know what a real taste of Hawaii it is and not a "Hawaii want to be place" to eat. Try it and you'll like it, we did 10 years ago and have been going back regularly ever since.

“Always A Touch of Hawaii”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

The food here is very good and plates are filled up with the dishes loved over in Hawaii at a reasonable price . Service is always friendly and the atmosphere is casual for all to enjoy these Island treats. A must try for those who like Hawaii-style foods. Not a franchise like all others in the area where the workers eat burritos and tacos instead of the food served to customers. Try it and you'll be sure to return for more. A true favorite among Locals living in Arizona

“Potato Macaroni salad ... Wicked!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2011

Aloha oe!

Had time to kill while running errands in Phoenix today so decided to pop in to Aloha Kitchen. A little out of my way but so worth it.

Enjoyed the charbroiled chicken teriyaki "mini" plate .. only one scoop of rice, the killer wicked potato mac salad and a smaller portion of teriyaki chicken. Nice Char flavor on the chicken although I found the sauce rather sweet for my taste. The chicken is chopped up dark and white meat and I'm a white meat fan but I "suffered" through it! FYI, the skin is on the chicken. Wonderful sticky rice with teriyaki sauce on it. But the potato macaroni salad is worth writing home (or Yelp) about. Loved it in all its carb loaded goodness.

Service is slower than a typical fast food joint, but hey, if you've been to Hawaii, you can dig it. And, it is a simple diner spot .. order at the counter, help yourself to condiments, plastic flatware and/or chopsticks and seat yourself.

Can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu.

“Local-girl approved!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2009

I'm from Hawaii (born and raised), and Aloha Kitchen has the best plate lunch in Arizona. It's just like home. Everything about this place says "Homemade", and not packaged and processed like some of the other chains that have popped up. I've introduced several mainlanders (including my husband) to this place, and they all love it.
