Hi Bob!
You wrote: 'DO not buy sunglasses there!!! They will.fall apart or be 'defefective'!! Watch out, you get what you pay for!'

Wow, Bob! Sounds like those sunglasses didn't work out for you!

We've got several sunglasses merchants at the market, and they sell different qualities and brands. I think there are some here you can pick up for a couple of bucks, as well as others that are warranted quality (considerably more expensive).

Sounds like you thought you were getting a high end pair of glasses and they just didn't live up to the money you invested in them. What did you pay for them, out of curiosity? Do you remember the location of the shop?

Feel free to contact Joan Wells: joan@mesamarket.com if you're still interested in the glasses you purchased here.

Our market place is as varied as the merchants and the amazing variety of merchandise they choose to sell.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Mesa Market Place Swap Meet!

“Swap Meet a must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

We bring visitors and also go regularly ourselves. There is something for everyone. The vendors are not pushy. Be prepared for a long, leisurely walk and that many vendors accept cash only. There are 2 refreshment areas and one can usually find a bench to rest if needed. Feels like indoors; with canvas roof and walls for shade and to cut the wind on cool days. Bring a sweater when it's cool out. You will not leave empty-handed. They close early, about 3 p.m.

“Just Plain Fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

Whether you are a winter visitor or a resident, everyone loves Mesa Marketplace Swap Meet. I like to go late morning after the early morning crowd thins. Park on the north or west side for easier access. It is so much fun!

“Always a good time for shoppers and browsers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is one of my favorite places to bring visitors to Mesa. If you love to shop for jewelry, home decor, housewares and clothing, this is the place for you. It is outdoor but mostly covered to shade from the sun. There are so many vendors, you will be tired well before you have seen them all. Be prepared to walk for most of the time. There are a few seating areas and benches to rest and grab a fun snack. There are quite a few options for Arizona souvenirs, T-shirts and such. Merchanise has a broad price range so everyone can find something to buy. I like to stock up on nuts and died fruit here. Most vendors now take credit cards but bring some cash along. A big shopping bag and walking shoes are a must. It is usually open on Thursday - Sunday until about 3 pm so start early in the morning.

“Mesa Market Place...Almost Has It All!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Need a watch, adult bib, Mexican ceramics, hot tub, golf clubs? These are just 5 items from the assorted variety of goods available at Mesa Market Place. You name it and I bet you can find it there. I think the only thing I haven't seen are appliances for sale! There are long shaded wide walkways loaded on both sides and sometimes down the center of vendors selling their wares. Many offer free samples to try from food to lotions. Mesa Market Place is open from Friday - Sunday. It is packed with vendors during the months November - March. The other months only a couple of walkways have vendors. If you go in the morning during Nov - Mar. you may need a sweater/jacket as it can be chilly walking through the covered open walkways. If you go there during the off season, go early in the morning to avoid the heat of the day.
I've been there when it is very crowded and patience is needed walking from vendor to vendor. I've been there when I thought it would be crowded and it wasn't so it is hard to predict! There is an area where you can sit, purchase food, and listen to local singer/musicians perform.
It is the perfect place to buy those Arizona souvenirs for family and friends back home and at a reasonable price. You can even purchase a new suitcase to take your cactus candy, salsa, and souvenirs home!
If you like to window shop and experience local flavors this is the place to visit!
