My stay at the Hilton was part of a confernce held there. As usual, they offered a block of specially priced rooms for conference attendees. When my friend booked the room, she was told that all the specially priced rooms were taken. She then booked a regualarly booked room. Later, we found out that there were still rooms available at the conference rate. She tried everything to get the hotel to honor the special price. They finally did but only if she booked a night in a Hilton property for another time!
When we arrived, at 4:30 P.M., we were told that our room was clean, but they needed to have a supervisor check it out. I could understand this at eleven in the morning, but by 4:30 in the afternoon, all rooms should be ready. We had to wait for 20 minutes.
In general, the staff was a bit icy with the exception of a young man who took several minutes to take a picture for our group.
The other thing that bothered me was that the back of the breakfast voucher suggest that you tip the wait staff at a rate that matches the price paid by walk-in guest. I've never been asked to tip for a complementary breakfast, and I resented the suggestion that I pay $2.25 tip for an included meal.
The rooms were roomy and clean. If the staff were more professional and friendly, I would certainly rate this property right up there with any I've been in.
