“FANTASTIC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2011

When we arrived to the hotel we were met by very courteous staff & very helpful who could speak very good english. We noticed upon arrival that our cell phone was missing & asked at the desk if they could call the shuttle company to see if it was lost in the bus which they did but the phone had not been found. Then MIGUEL even called our cell number 4 times during our stay at the hotel to see if someone would answer & then ask them to return the phone but no answer. However on the day we left which was 4 days later we asked at Lan Airlines check in agent if a cell phone was found & was happy that we now had our cell phone. Our room was extremely very clean and a great view looking out to Paraguay & Brazil . Right across the street was the bus station where we can take a bus to the falls for 15 pesos return, Also we had a great breakfast with lots of choices to eat. Many nice restaurants just around the corner as well as a pharmacy & local grocery store selling wine & food. The swimming pool was very clean & the surrounding gardens very well kept. All the staff were very friendly and accomodating.

WI-FI did not work very well as the signal was very poor in our room 4th floor however downstairs it worked better.

I would highly recommend this hotel because the employees were so nice & helpful & also spoke English especially Miguel. Because of employees like him you will continue to have good reviews for this hotel. All & all it is a great place to stay while vacating in I guazu

The red streets of Puerto Iguazú welcomes you to this hotel. Great service at the reception. The rooms feel a little old, but still cozy. Great restaurant, great location. Clean bathroom 24/7. The service from the staff of the hotel is very good. If you need WiFi you'll have to go to the lobby.

You will have to chase the maid to change your towels, resupply the toilet paper but otherwise it is ok place to stay if you can tolerate tiny mites. It is convenient to the bus station from which there are frequent rapidos to the Falls. In my book, it is also the only place where I was charged for the second card key. That key is very convenient and covers the cost of electricity used when you leave the room. This is in humid tropics and the room will get hot if the ac is not running. The quality and efficiency of the ac is less than poor. The restaurant is a preferred buffet type with a small parilla. It is now call Donna Maria's Restaurant.

Dear Mr Czeckmate

Thank you for sending your comments, they are very important to us!

I apologize for the Housekeeping inconvenient, we are making a follow up, in order to correct this problem.

It would be very helpful is you can tell us which was your room, so we can correct the AC problem. We recently, have change to new all the Standard Rooms ACs.

I am really sorry, if you miss understood about the second key; the hotel charges $5.- for the second key that the amount is cancel upon check out when you return the key. I’am really sorry if this was an inconvenient.
I hope that your stay in Iguazú was an enjoyable one.

Sincerely,

Carolina Gazek

Just completed a three-day stay at the St. George and found everything to be as promised or better. The room was big), and everything was very clean. The pool and pool bar, the spa and the breakfast were more than adequate and most enjoyable, The front desk staff - especially Jonathan and Miguel - were wonderfully helpful, giving advice which saved us money and time when sightseeing, and an excellent recommendation for dinner at Tio Querdio. Thanks to you both.
They have Master rooms and Standard rooms. When I called the hotel in December to book the room, I was told they had only Master Rooms left at nearly $150 per night. On checking some online services through TripAdvisor for I found Standard rooms for $100 US per night. Daniel at the hotel reservations office refused to match it. I do not recommend booking directly with the hotel without at least checking with online services first.
General advice on visiting Iguasu Falls. STAY ON THE ARGENTINA side! The town of Puerta Iguazu, Argentina is far nicer than Foz do Iguacu, Brazil. It's fine to visit the Brazilian side to see the falls from that perspective, but most people will be happier staying on the Argentina side. Specific reasons: it is a smaller, cleaner more interesting tourist town, with less traffic and fewer street "hustlers" thrusting things in your face begging you to buy this or park here or whatever.
I hope you enjoy your stay there as much as we did

We booked the mini-suite rooms,(Great). The included breakfast was above-average. We recommend that you not get the dinner package as the several restaurants - just across the street - are fabulous with GREAT Argentine Beef.
The desk staff arranged a private transportation package for the 4 of us that included: Transportation to the Brazilian Side of the falls, the Argentine side of the Falls, and back to the Airport when we left. (We spent two nights), which we also recommend - this gives enough time to see both sides of the Falls. The boat ride from the Argentine side (under the Falls) was a 'blast' & recommended.
We can't say enough positive things about the staff... and what a great pool. At the end of each day - we relaxed with several drinks and floated- our sore muscles (from walking the trails of the Falls.
Better and much cheaper then the other possibilities we looked at during our extensive walks - especially the ones in the Parks (on either side).

100 dollar a night is clearly overpriced for this hotel. Our room was cramped, half a floor down with minor windows towards some bushes and the pool. Not as "lindo" as the checkin staff said it would be.
Also VERY loud. You can here everything the neigbors do and all pool activities.
On the plus side: big comfortable beds, pool area is good, nice breakfast with fresh fruits, good location close to the bus station and the few restaurants in Pto Iguazo.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Saint George. The staff was very helpful. They booked us cabs and a restaurant reservation, gave us directions, and answered our many questions. The hotel pool was a great place to relax and spend a day. We swam and ordered food and drinks. Our only complaint was that the water pressure in our shower was very low one day. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. After an hour or so, my husband went downstairs and had to get someone to come up to fix it. That was the only negative during our stay. The location of the hotel was great. There are many restaurants near the hotel (within walking distance). The falls are a cab ride away (about 100 pesos, or $25). We would definitely stay there again.
