“friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2010

Hotel clean rooms with in room safe and tv.Pool was cold and much leaves and need cleaning. The Juacuzzi was look warm and not good jets.Breakfast for argentina good, fruit, eggs, bread, ham and cheese. Good location near bus terminal and off street with restaurants. I was facing the pool on an end on second floor-- so quiet. However people complained about hostel next door that plays loud music late. They are in the front of hotel so request back with pool view. They have a spa which runs about $60 for an hour massage.
Front desk very helpful for me. I lost my passport my first day at the missions. It is a 3.5 hour drive away. The front desk Juan went out of his way to call the place and discovered a guard that found it. He arranged a cab to bring it back( 7 hour round trip drive) since no tours that day. Yes I had to pay an expensive cab fare, but my trip was not ruined. Just do not use their phone. I had to use the phone to call the consult and it was $5.00 a minute. It was a $30 dollar phone call.Wow!.The place was about $80 per night. Internet is not free. If you want to print your boarding pass they charge you. Because of the service I received, by Argentina standards good breakfast, clean, safe place-- I would recommend.

So I can't actually review my stay here since I had booked online the night before arriving using a 3rd party site, Booking.com, only learn that there were no rooms actually available. The hotel is in a good location, in the center of town, and had reasonable rates, however I cannot imagine how they can have rooms listed as available on booking sites when in fact there are none available. This review is merely to caution future guests to CALL and make sure rooms are available since their booking system is not kept up to date! It was an aggravating day trying to find another hotel in the area on a public national holiday in Argentina, as I'm sure you can imagine, and the hotel was not able to help us in any way to find new accommodations, nor were they in any way apologetic for their error.

The St George is a large-ish, good value, hotel in the town centre. Good rooms but noisy if you are overlooking the street. The best ones overlook the pool area. Good service and reasaonable buffet breakfast. Great location for restaurants, town exploration, and the bus station (for self-guided trips to the falls - why bother with an expensive tour)?

Get up early and get the bus to the falls, to be there by 9am to avoid the hoards.

I stayed in the St. George for one night. The room was fairly basic. nothing flashy but clean and of acceptable standard. The hotel was in a good location in the town of Puerto Iguazu. However it is a long way from the Iguazu National park. The breakfast was quite poor. I didnt enjoy it. The coffee was crap and the juice was horrible. The staff were quite helpful and some had quite good English.Overall average hotel. I wouldnt be recommending it. You would probably get as good elsewhere in the town.

There's nothing that wows you about this hotel, which is what I expected. The staff is friendly, although their English is a bit limited. We were upgraded to a superior room, so I can't comment on standard. The room and bathroom were huge but the carpet and decor seem a bit dated. The breakfast buffet was pretty good. The bus station and good restaurants (I recommend Aqva for great steaks and wine at ridiculously low prices) are right across the street. Overall, for a rural town like Puerto Iguazu, I recommend this hotel and believe it's just right for a 2 day stay to see the falls.

The staff could not have been more helpful, nice and friendly. We only stayed at this hotel for two nights. I'd love to go back for a week. The Argentinian side of Iguazy is beautiful and the restaurants have excellent food.

This hotel is located directly across the road from the bus station that takes you to Iguazzu falls. It is also located across the road from the most amazing 'Bife de chorizo' steak I have ever had (actually went there twice) at the 'a Piacere' restaurant. One bite and we were considering moving to the country! There were several other places to dine along the road.
At check-in we selected a 'non-smoking' room however once we dragged our bags to our room and opened the door it stunk of stale cigarette smoke. My fiance went back to reception to request another room but this was turned down. The fridge had also leaked all over the floor. All i seem to remember about the simple bathroom was that the toilet paper was 1 ply and very rough! The door was very difficult to lock and unlock. There was a simple outdoor swimming pool with lots of area to lay around. The buffet breakfast was standard.
