“Look twice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

On the first view, one might think this hotel is not very luxurious and pretty small. Well, yes; however, the longer you stay, the more of the important details that make hotels special become obious. The hotel owner Roberto takes care of all your issues. He speaks some English and German and understands you very well. I pre-booked a tour of the Iguazu waterfalls but they didn't pick me up at the Hotel. I was really upset and arguing on the phone with the tour company, when Roberto heard that and offered to help me out. He and his wife showed me around Puerto Iguazu in their private car for free (including a visit of Hito Tres Fronteras) and offered to bring me to both, the Brazilian and the Argentinian side of the Iguazu Waterfalls for almost the same amount of money the pre-booked tour cost. Also, Roberto drove me to the airport on the next day I had to leave. Perfect service. Muchas Gracias Roberto! I enjoyed my time and should I ever come back, I know where to go to! I felt very welcome and comfortable in the hotel. The air condition worked. The bed was fine. The shower was clean. Wifi was free and worked. Perfecto!

This is the perfect example of a budget hotel done right. Rooms were sparse, but large and most importantly clean. Shower worked well as did A/C. Breakfast was bread, medialunas, and jam. For ~$40-$50 USD per night, you can't ask for much more. Wi-fi didn't work well in my room as I was a bit farther from the dining area, but worked fine in the dining areas. Hotel is about 7 blocks (~10 minute) walk from the center of town on a quiet street. Pool seemed a little stale. People who worked there were friendly and there was always someone on duty. I did a lot of research on TA to find a clean, convenient budget hotel. This place did not disappoint.

We stayed for 3 nights and by the end of it we felt like family. We didn't feel in the way if we wanted to relax in the breakfast room playing cards or chatting to the other guests or Roberto. Roberto earns 5*s just for himself. Lively conversation, great suggestions and a warm welcome. So easy to get anywhere, great pool, lovely and relaxed stay. I would recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning myself!

Room Tip: Ask for the newer rooms as they are a bit more up to date.

We were dropped off by the airport bus right outside the door. Our suitcase had been damaged in transit and the owner repaired it for us, industrial strength, free of charge!!!
You can't ask for better than that. He was pleasantly friendly showing us how to get to the falls, a great place for dinner and transport to Brasil. A great host.
The rooms are basic and quite dated but the air con works well, the pool is lovely at the end of a hot day and who goes to the falls to spend the day in their room?
This is all that you need.

Hotel Iguazu Royal has a number of different rooms - all of which seemed filled almost each of the 4 nights we were there. Roberto, the owner, is always around and engages regularly in conversation with guests helping make reservations and give suggestions. Breakfast begins at 6:30 and carries on until close to 10 or later. You will have lots of bread products, juice and hot coffee with hot milk.

The location is close to the main center of town without being so close it's noisy. If you want to have your own BBQ - there is an asadero right on the property and Roberto lent plates and cutlery to other guests for their asado one night while we were there. The pool is clean, well-tended (unlike other pools in the town we walked by) and a great way to end your day.

Well located hotel not far from the center. With rather big pool. Clean and spacious rooms with a/c and private bath. Very kind and friendly host but only Spanish speaking.
Only downside: rather poor breakfast with coffee, juice, jam and bread.

A nice clean and comfortable place to stay while visiting the falls. Owner and his wife were very kind and thoughtful. Had set aside five days to visit the area. Way too much time as there is very little to do short of visiting the falls. Two or three days max is sufficient. Given the heat and humidity you will be spending a lot of time in your room or at the pool. I would highly recommend visiting the humminbird house (within walking distance) and the animal and bird santcuary (a short and inexpensive bus ride) when you visit the area.
