Good location with very helpful staff. Nice rooms however the bathroom was not cleaned properly and the pool needed some attention. Standard Argentine breakfast with pastries and some fruit. Wi-fi only works in common areas.

We booked this accomodation via Agoda and got an absolute bargain, £25 a night. We stayed in the hotel rooms which were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The tv was huge and had all the usual cable channels. The shower was always hot and the aircon worked perfectly. Breakfast was basic but did the job until lunch time. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a good clean option for a visit to Iguazu Falls and the swimming pool was lovely. However, breakfast for us later risers who made it to the restaurant half an hour before it finished, was a meagre disappointment. There was nothing left and the staff had disappeared. It was pathetic and happened every morning.

We stayed in one of the newer rooms, which was very nice, but the electrics were all over the place. When we turned the lights off at night the lightbulbs were flashing like something out of a horror movie. The staff didn't really solve this during our stay, but we just took the lightbulbs out in the end!

To their credit, after some discussion, the staff did give us a refund for the lack of service during our stay.

The second accommodation we stayed in during our time in Puerto Iguazu and definitely the more enjoyable. Si Mi Capitan certainly has its own unique charm - easy to spot from the road due to being bright orange, the 'unique' nautically influenced design continues throughtout the hotel, with barrels for chairs and some interesting garden ornaments.

Location is just on the edge of downtown, and staff are very helfpul and English speaking. The lodgings are in individual cabins which offer a good degree of privacy and a change from most hotels. Worth trying to get one set as far back from the road however.

Overall, a slightly leftfield choice but well worth giving a go.

Room Tip: Check that your room is away from the road

During our stay at Petit Hotel Si Mi Capitan we had a cabina in a complex across the road from the main hotel building. We are just a couple travelling, and booked for a double room, but got the family unit which had 2 rooms, a queen room then the 2nd bedroom had 3 singles. So it was very spacious for the two of us. Both bedrooms had air conditioning units which would be great mid summer. We enjoyed sitting outside on our private porch with outdoor furniture. There is a supermarket at the end of the road the hotel is on (approx 20meters away) which is handy for drinks & snacks etc. The walk to town is an easy, flat 5-10mins stroll.

Unfortunately during our stay, There was a distinct gas smell in the lounge of our unit, possibly a gas leak somewhere? Or from our fridge? Not sure. The sofas in the lounge were a bit dirty. There was a separate upstairs to our cabina, and im not sure if that also gets rented or is lived in permanently- but it was occupied during our stay. The unit above was obviously the same layout as ours, with the bedroom overhead ours & the upstairs gents snoring kept me awake for some time. We booked our room at a discounted rate on a special on booking.com but when we came to settle our bill at the end they were charging us regular rate. By showing our booking confirmation they honored the special rate for us, & that's what we thought our stay was worth given the fore mentioned circumstances. Without the gas smell, a quick vacuum of the sofa, and fluking better neighbors would have changed our experience totally. Would go back.

The hotel is new, has very clean rooms and is located near the centre. Buses are in walking distance. Breakfast is average. Unfortunately you can hear the guests in the rooms next door and there is a local party room next to the hotel. Otherwise it would be the perfect place to stay in town.

Lovely staff, very clean and comfortable rooms, lovely small pool and garden and a great location in town. We arrived sick and were worried we may not make it to the falls the next day, but the cook made us a special soup that cured us and they were so helpful at giving us useful information to make the fall enjoyable in our somewhat weakened state.
