“A clean and comfortable choice in Puerto Iguazu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

Very friendly staff, especially Juan who greeted us with a big smile each day. Clean rooms and a central location. Decent breakfast and a kitchen for guests to use. Reasonably price considering what is on offer for the same price. Great pool area and fast wifi.

Our great time in Iguazu falls was soured by our experiences in this hostel.
First of all we booked a 4-bed dorm for the four of us, only to find on arrival that they put an extra bed and person in our room. After some talking to one incompetent staff member we received a 5 peso per person discount for the night.

Our next problem came after one of their shelves fell down during the night. The next day they told us that it would be in our bill because we didn't tell them about straight away (in the middle of the night).

So then finally upon checkout, we receive a bill that was without the original discount, and with 50 pesos for the shelf (as we left, the shelf had been put back in the wall by a dodgy screw, so beware)
when we asked what happened to our discount for the extra person in our room, the staff member said that the owner cancelled the discount because of the shelf and because he was upset at our attitude (honestly we had no bad attitude, and politely asked for a discount because they misled us)

PLEASE AVOID THIS HOSTEL

Room Tip: the dorm has dodgy shelving, and they will blame you if they fall down

Great place, 5/6 minute walk to the bus station, helpful staff, comfy beds, decent breakfast.

The pool is small but not a real problem. My only issue with the place was te kitchen. It's poorly equipped and in need of work.

There are so many places to eat in town that it wasn't a problem. From cheap eats to fine dining.

Overall, the staff are helpful, especially the guy who works the morning shift (until 3pm). Great place at a bargain price. Don't forget they will add 21% to your bill for VAT.

Lastly, see BOTH sides of the falls. You won't regret it.

We chose Noelia because of its location, cost and amenities which all get a great big tick. The rooms might be a little spartan but for the price it was great. We used the BBQ and had the most fantastic piece of filet steak from just around the corner butcher shop. The reception guy just wanted to get in and do the cooking so we let him do the lot for us. It was the best piece of steak we had in the whole of South America. With a lovely glass of vino tinto from the local super market again just around the corner topped it off. We were there for 3 nights and initiallly told we could only have 2 so we were very pleasantly surprised when we were able to extend. The pool was great after a long day at the Falls and with a cervassa or 2 around the pool was a great way to slow down. The reception guy had some good recommendations for dinner and it lived upto all expectations. We can highly recommend Hostal Noelia for value convenience and proximity to all things in Puero Iguazu.

Room Tip: Try for a room at the rear upstairs away from any pool noise if you need a nanna nap.

We were told about this hostel upon arrival at bus terminal, few blocks from the terminal, a/c, private bathroom with hot water. Very reasonable rate A$200 per night. This room has a double bed and a single bed. So could fit 3 people if you want...
But room is very small, not much space for luggages for 3 people. Shower was super tiny but enough water pressure. Might encounter some incects once a while, maybe since it was on a ground level?? Hostel has some towels for you, a computer at reception area and free wifi throughout. Connection was fare but speed wasn't that great. BBQ area and swimming pool outside. Space to hang your laundry outside too. Oh birds cage in the same area. Small breakfast, pastries, toasts, fruits, coffee/tea was included. Had some beverages, water, sodas, beers for sale till around midnight. Reception closed after that time when we stayed. I only saw one receptionist who was fluent in English during the stay. But they were all friendly and speak enough English.
Hostel also has dorm rooms with shared bathrooms.
Less than 10min from bus terminal on foot. Be aware that mist of the streets around the hostel was not roller board friendly pavement. We had such a hard time to drug our suitcases up and down and bumpy streets. It isn't too bad without luggages but better be careful to watch your step after dark:-)
There are few small shops nearby and supermarket right across from bus terminal which opens till 21:00, a 24hr open mini store is also right near the terminal.

We stayed at this place during our trip to the falls in February 2012. Stayed for three nights.
Hostel is nice and clean. Rooms are simple, basic but clean, there is everything you will need for a short time stay. Breakfast is basic, but fresh and delicious. Very close to bus terminal - just about 10min walking. I think it is one of the best places in this area at this level of money.
Staff is nice, helpfull and very honest. I lost my phone over there. The phone was found at the pool by a lady who was cleaning. It was returned to me. Admirable honesty.
Thank you one more time!
