“Perfect hotel on the triple frontier.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

I was very impressed with the balcony rooms, which offered amazing views of the Triple Fromtier. The pool is an eternal pool with varying depths & underwater benches. In another side building you will find a massage water spa, free for guests

It´s a small five stars hotel. When you choose staying in a place like this you have to be aware of the reality of the place, and I meaning the city itself, that is more a town than a city. Someone told me that they have a population of seventy thousand people: it´s a five stars hotel in a large town.
I had a great experience. Good food, great service, and an impossible view. It´s about half an hour from the National Park (Iguazu Waterfalls), and five minutes from the tiny center of Iguazu. Highly recomended!

Room Tip: You should get a room in the fourth floor in order to see Brazil and Paraguay´s views.

Unless you are planning to mortgage your house for a great view of the falls, this option works fine and you can still visit the falls (both sides) and then return to the hotel for a bit of relaxation at the pool before venturing out for dinner. The rooms are nice and didn't disappoint us in any way. The included breakfast, should you purchase it, had plenty of variety. The hotel is almost adjacent to the place where Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina meet and is also at the junction of two large rivers that form the Rio De La Plata. Be aware that the hotel is out of town but the distance is walkable if you don't take the local bus that stops accross the street.

We were booked into a Garden view but upgraded to a room at the rear of the hotel so thanks to the Reception Staff.
The hotel was good, rooms clean staff friendly, good breakfast and very good pool area.
Although as mentioned by other guests the hotel is located about a 15 minute walk into the town but this did not bother us as we always felt safe no matter what time we walked into town and it was good exercise after our evening meal.
On our tour of South America the falls are truly magnificent and without doubt the highlight of our holiday.

Room Tip: Ensure you choose a rom at the rear of the hotel to,see the river.

Stayed here for 2 nights to visit the falls. The hotel was nice and they upgraded us for some reason to a large suite, which had a dining room, living room area and a large balcony. It was a lovely room and the views were spectacular from the top floor. In my opinion, though, this hotel should not be a 5 star property if your idea of 5 stars are hotels similar to the Four Seasons or Ritz. Perhaps by South American standards it isa 5 star. It is a nice place though and we enjoyed the pool area in the late afternoon after a long day of walking at the falls. It is quite a distance from town and even further from the Argentinian entrance to the Falls and the airport, so keep that in mind if you are looking to eat out at night or for taxi costs. After walking all day, we ended up having to get taxis.

The rooms are spacious, the pool was awesome. Their front desk spoke decent english (not fluent but enough of it for us to understand). They have some amazing Remises that help with the general trip around the town and also trips to the falls. We were helped by Bablo who was simply magnificient. He didn't speak much english but helped us get around the Argentina side of the falls and was always waiting for us on time.

Only gripe is they provided us the garden view rooms (great views to the front of the hotel but horrendous when compared with the gorgeous views on the back of the hotel that covers Tres Frontas - meeting point of the three nations) even though most of the hotel was very empty when we stayed.

Room Tip: Ask for the forest facing (or whatever that faces the back of the hotel). Don't go for Garden Vi...

This was my second stay in four years at Amerian at Iguazu, and I really love this hotel. The rooms are comfortable, if not overly spacious. The public areas--bar, cafe, restaurants--are excellent. Food is good, but dinners at select restaurants in town is a better choice. The pool and spa are really fabulous. Spring for a river view room; the extra cost is worth it. On a down note, staff assistance can be hit-or-miss; service by front desk staff is inconsistent, depending on who is on duty. They're not rude or anything like that; some of the staff just seems to need a refresher course on responsiveness. As an example, I needed to call a few days ahead of our arrival just to confirm the reservation. It took me three phone calls to get someone to respond to my call; they kept disconnecting me, and when I finally got someone who didn't hang up on me, he was less than reassuring. That would be my only suggestion to management.

Room Tip: Spring for the extra cost for a room with a river view.
