We spent New Year in Mendoza and this hotel made the stay really enjoyable.

The receptionist Barbara was brilliant, and even sorted out another hotel for an extra nights stay for us at a great rate (the Villaggio is very popular so do book ahead).

The rooms are spacious, with huge comfy beds and great hot powerful showers. The Wi-Fi connection was the best we´ve had in all of Central/South America, and the 3 free PC´s in recepiton are speedy with printing facilities etc.. too.

The only slight downside was the hot-tub and roof terrace, as there is no shade so it gets VERY hot, and the hot-tub is actually inside too, although there are windows all around it so it´s still very scenic.

Breakfast is pretty good, with lots of choice, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby too.

All in all this is a place I´d gladly re-visit.

Hotel Villaggio is modern and centrally located. Walking distance to Mendoza's shops and restaurants. Tastefully decorated hotel and rooms.

Our only gripe with the hotel was its paper thin walls. We could hear our neighbors stirring about in their room and the hallway at 5 in the morning. Not cool. Maybe they were just loud.

The computers in the lobby are a definite bonus. The restaurant is super cute and breakfast is included.

stayed here 2 nights in dec 2007...nice...great value, clean room, contemporary feel, comfortable bed, great service.

3 computers (free) for internet access and nice bar area for espresso/wine/breakfast/late night dinner/snack. helpful staff for booking taxis and bodegas. nice location in heart of downtown. I will say... there was a funky gas smell from the bathroom drain a bit...but not terrible or a deal breaker. Compared to other prices we paid in Iguazu and BA...this hotel was a deal (290 pesos).

This new hotel sets itself up as a boutique hotel, in a modern European style and fully delivers - my wife and I were very impressed (stayed 4 nights).

Rooms were of reasonable size, very quiet, clean, bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was a delight. Further services as you would expect included minibar, safe, turndown service and free Wi-Fi through out the hotel (including 3 public locations in the reception area). On the top floor was a terrace, Jacuzzi and sauna! There was no room service, but this is in no way an complaint and was not expected for a hotel of this size.

Staff were very helpful (good English) and the restaurant, although quiet, was perfectly fine for dinner. Breakfast was included in the rate and was a simple buffet.

The location is again great and very central, just 3mins from the main square.

To sum up, we had been staying in the Sheraton Santiago for 4 nights before our stay at Villaggio and it easily held its own. We would not hesitate to go back!

We stayed 4 nights Oct 7 - 11. Villagio is one of those hotels that turn out to be better than its pictures and reviews. We did not find anything to concur with any negatives reviews. They did have full American breakfast (eggs a bit runny), 3 free internet computers (never had to wait), and lovely rooftop hot tub and lounging area. We did have a top floor room so noise from wooden floors was not a problem. As for street noise (cars, construction, barking dogs, etc.), there was some. In a city, it seems the only way to possibly avoid this problem is to stay at one of the 5 star well-insulated chains. One of the best hotels in its price category that I’ve ever stayed in. Do believe it deserves a 5 rating.
