“As good as it gets... for Argentina.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2011

Stayed for 3 nights during our two week Argentina/Brazil honeymoon and not too much to complain about. Our flight from Buenos Aires was delayed, so by the time we arrived in Mendoza it was dark and no city taxis were available at the airport. The only people outside the very small airport were trying to convince us to let them take us to the hotel, but we called the Park Hyatt and they said they'd have a hotel car pick us up within 15 mins. We decided to wait and the Park Hyatt private car arrived in no time.

The hotel had a bottle of champagne on ice and a plate of chocolates in the room upon our arrival. Lovely mountain view room, which was clean and decorated in modern furnishings. Beds were extremely plush and comfortable and no hallway noise could be heard.

The only complaint we had was that the floor of the shower was not designed properly, so it was slanting away from the drain and towards the shower door. It didn't cause any major flooding, but it was an annoyance. We notified the front desk immediately and they moved us to another room within a couple hours. No problems with the second room.

The breakfast buffet is very good, although it didn't change during the three days we were there. We also ate at one of the hotel restaurants Grill Q, which was excellent.

The hotel is centrally located, within easy walking to a few very nice restaurants... we would recommend Azafran to anyone. The concierge helped arrange a wine tour and a horseback riding excursion, although I'd recommend you book things early if you want a private tour with the hotel cars.

We also had a couple massage treatments at the hotel spa, which were good, although not as good as what you'd receive in most of Asia. The spa facilities were very clean and generally empty, so you'll have the sauna or steam room all to yourself.

The attached casino is mainly filled with video slot machines, but had a few table games starting in the afternoon.

If you're going not going to stay in a small boutique or bed/breakfast in Mendoza, then you're best option is the Park Hyatt. We heard bad things about the Sheraton.

This is a fantastic hotel! I'm a big fan of Park Hyatts, so if you are seeking high-end service, great restaurants, very spacious rooms and an ideal location, this hotel is for you! I spent 3 days here on a recent work trip and I only wish I could have stayed longer to explore the immediate neighborhood and go to the spa, which looks wonderful. The hotel is modern and very cool design-wise. It is situated on a lovely, large park -- just across from a nice pedestrian walkway. It is located just steps away from the action. Overall, this hotel was very clean, and the bathrooms were large with powerful showers -- and the employees were super-helpful. I would definitely stay here again!! (All of the front desk employees speak English, too, in case you are wondering.) Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the park

If you are seeking all the modern amenities of a high end hotel you will be very satisfied with the Hyatt.  The rooms are modern and comfortable . I loved the bathroom that was spacious and had a powerful shower and a great tub.  The full breakfast offers everything you could imagine for breakfast and was a testament to gluttony if you as the customer do not know when to leave the buffet. The hotel  lounge areas are lovely spaces to drink mate, tea, or have a galss of wine if you have not already overindulged at the local wineries. Small but very nice pool is also a great spot to relax. Hotel is pricey but life should involve a little luxury .

We arrived at the park hyatt Mendoza. It is a beautiful building on a cute plaza. The check in was standard for a large hotel, nothing special. The rooms were good but not what we expected. The bathroom had a shower in an enclosed area with the tub next to it but it was a strange configuration. Towels needed to be changed, very old and worn out. We were a bit disappointed in the rooms. The restaurant however was outstanding. Great food and service and reasonably priced. The casino was a bit grungy as well.

Not too many options in Mendoza bur hyatt is still top place

When we first checked in, our room was not ready and we were told it would depend on when the folks that were currently in our room left. After waiting for 3.5 hrs, we left for wine tasting without our room being ready. We had to ask the concierge to lock up our baggage as they had just left them in the lobby, unsecured while we had waited.
Our rooms were ready when we came back at 7pm, but there were no apologies and there was no upgrade, or free glass of wine.. Or anything as an apology for us not having a room for so long.
We stayed at the Park Hyatt for 2 days during our Mendoza wine trip. The hotel is extremely elegant and grand in decor. The beds are relatively comfortable. The rooms are spacious with TV gorgous views. They do have converters for US plugs, though we only found 1 outlet in the room to plug it into. The bathroom looked divine. Glass and marble, shower room and tub.. however the floor was slanted in the wrong direction in the glass shower room and water was difficult to drain and would accumulate near the glass doors. The tub was also difficult to plug.
despite the rooms, the staff in the various restaurants in the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The vines restaurant in the hotel it self by the patio and pool area was exceptional. The bartender was extremely helpful and showed us a way to order Mendoza wines we liked less expensively, through their US distributor in CA.
The hotel also has a casino, which is nothing to write home about, but can keep you occupied if you are into that.
Over all our experience was good. THe hotel is very striking.

The hotel was nice, as expected, with the Spa and Gym facilities being offered exceeding our expectations. Restaurants and other ammenities on site were also as expected. Central location makes for easy walking access to the city. I was disappointed that previously requested car service to and from the airport was overlooked by the staff, as those types of details are what high end hotels should be watching out for, on behalf of their guests.

Overall a very nice stay at the Hyatt Mendoza. In the middle of town, well placed for restaurants (nearby Azafran particularly good) and shopping, helpful staff. Standard rooms are not terribly exciting/ very corporate in style, but huge marble bathrooms compensate.

Breakfast was expensive and not very high quality, every juice I had during the stay was bitter, and the food at the hotel wine bar was sub par. The wine bar also has a pretty limited selection of wine by the glass. The sister wine bar of the same name, just outside the hotel, is much better- more atmosphere, good food, very comprehensive wine selection, knowledgeable staff.

Lots of corporate events at the hotel, casino is good (but lacks Texas hold 'em), swimming pool is nice if a bit small. Overall, good base in Mendoza, but do go out and stay in the vineyards as well if you are wine touring (tupangato divino in the Uco Valley was a particularly nice choice).
