3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

We stayed in this hotel just for one night, while waiting for the road pass to Chile to open. It was a planned stay, we chose it mainly because it was one of the few low-cost hotels that offered reserved, indoor parking, and was in the city center.
In that aspect it was excellent, it has an underground parking (about 12 places) right across the street shared with its twin hotel, the Petit Hotel. From the outside, the parking can only be opened from the Petit Hotel front-desk. We don't know If they honored the parking reservation we made, since when we arrived the parking was almost empty. What we do know is that they register the plates of the cars inside and the room number, so if you have a place when you arrive, you will keep it for all your stay.
Location-wise is very good, just a 7-10min walk from Plaza Independencia, the very center of Mendoza, and next to Av. Belgrano and its fancy (and more expensive) restaurants and bars. If you come by car, the hotel is very easy to find, due to its central location.
We only met two of the staff, the afternoon and night receptionists. Both were very kind, attentive, and helpful.

There was wi-fi in all the hotel, with good signal and speed. There is also a pay PC in the lobby.

And that's where the good things about this hotel end.

The room was extremely basic. We had a triple room with a double bed and a single bed. While the double bed was fine, the single bed was awful. It was narrower (70cm) than standard single beds (90cm), meaning that you could sleep there as well as in a standard, worn-out couch. Even slightly overweight people should just avoid it and ask for a double bed.
The beds were crammed into the room, the door actually hit the double bed when open. Apart from the beds, the only other furniture was a 14'' old TV perched high up in one of the corners. It had cable, but the remote didn't work.
The only good thing about the room was the size of the bathroom, very ample though basic and dated, as the room in general. It has a shower, no tub, but water was plenty and with good pressure. The only amenity was soap, no shampoo, showering gel, etc.
There is AC in the room and you can set it for yourself, though it has to be activated from reception. They didn't disconnected it while we were out.

Breakfast is basic, though buffet and tasty. There was coffee (scalding), milk, tea, orange juice (not pressed), "facturas", bread, butter, jam, cereal (one kind), and fruit.

If it not were for the condition of the room (old, dated, cramped), all the other aspects would make of this a very good low-budget hotel. The parking and location are really a plus, that's why I'm giving it 3-stars and not 2.
I would stay there again, but only if it is to spend the night.

Room Tip: If you're a big person, try to avoid the single beds. There is no elevator.
