... so says the opening board as you enter through a 1920's gate on a quiet side street of Mendoza. We spent five weeks traveling in the area (most of it climbing) and Casa Lila was home base. This is a small, simple place with attention to detail, leading to great comfort and easy navigation of the city. They know how to craft an experience. Pablo and Mariela are tuned in to what a wide variety of travelers need. I watched them gracefully handle arranging wine tours, car rentals, cooking classes, and trekking permits with equal grace. Part of their excellence stems from the fact that they can tap a rich network of experiences and experts in the area as Mariela is well-known and respected in the service industry, helping travelers tap the best of Mendoza. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. We'll be back!

We've been to Mendoza once, for three days as part of a two week trip to Argentina. I couldn't write a lonely planet book, but I've got the Americas pretty well covered. Mendoza and Casa Lila regularly come to mind as far as being one our best travel experiences. Pablo (I hate that I can't remember his wife's name) and his wife are passionate citizens of Mendoza and the world. Book here. Stay here. Do and go where he suggests. That is all.

If you're going to Mendoza, you should not hesitate about staying at Casa Lila!
The owners made us feel at home and even arranged a winery tour via remis for us. The bedrooms are very well equipped and the courtyard was lovely. There were special touches everywhere from the embroidered towels, to the antique furniture, to the whole family sending us off waving. Plus, the breakfasts were yummy.
Also, the location is great for site seeing and dining in Mendoza. We walked everywhere and felt safe, even at night.

This is how you would set up your own bnb.

Exquisite attention to detail, so warm and friendly. Pablo and his wife are the most friendly, helpful couple, and the staff will go out of their way to help you. I had an amazing brief stay here, and strongly encourage anyone considering this bnb to book as soon as possible

We visited Casa Lila for three nights around Christmas. We couldn't have had a more positive experience. Casa Lila is small (four rooms) and intimate (you get to know the other guests). The rooms are basic, but provide all you need. The location is central.

What puts Casa Lila on top is the care that the owners (or in our case, their temporary holiday fill in) take with ensuring that guests get everything they can out of Mendoza and its environs. We spent over two hours on the night of our arrival doing trip planning. When we couldn't get a cab on Christmas night, a friend of one of the staff gave us a ride. Throughout the visit, I felt that out needs were central to their mission.

An added bonus for us was the owners' dog -- Olivia -- who befriends the guests and ensures that that their sense of loss of their own dog is ameliorated.

The breakfast was bountiful.

Per other reviews, a great place to stay in Mendoza city. Clean, comfortable and friendly. Our only small gripe was the US$ exchange rate they applied, which was rather unfavourable and provided them with a margin when paid in pesos vs the US$ advertised price. Suggest you therefore pay in US$ or negotiate a real exchange rate with the owners rather than pay their standard one.

My daughter and I spent four nights at Casa Lila. It is by far one of the best B &Bs at which i have every stayed. Our hosts, Pablo and Mariela (and Josefina and Olivia!) are simply charming and incredibly gracious. They worked hard to take care of our every need and made us feel very much at home. Casa Lila is beautifully maintained, the rooms well appointed and spotless, and the location is great. Thank you, Pablo and Mariela, for a wonderful trip!
