“Moderately clean, great staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012

The staff were very helpful in every way at this hostel. All the rooms had air conditioning, and were kept fairly clean, although the floors weren't swept everyday. Also the toilets were cleaned every day but the showers and sinks and bathroom floors weren't cleaned every day. The biggest problem I had was that there were only three bathrooms and about fifteen guests, leading to long waits in the morning sometimes. The kitchen was well stocked, and the location of the hostel was very good, close to the centre and a large supermarket.

Room Tip: All rooms face the street and so can be noisy. The four bed dorm in the basement does not, but there...

Darby, first of all, thank you very much for having stayed in our hostel! The entire hostel is cleaned completely every day, and especially the bathrooms which are cleaned several times a day. The problem is that they, being of sharing, are used by all guests of the hostel, some clean and some not so many. Unfortunately there are a lot of people that after using the bathrooms do not have the slightest cooperation and leave everything very dirty no matter who leave others to use. Honestly it is impossible to have a person 24 hours next to the bathrooms so that each time a passenger comes to be constantly cleaning. We try to have it 100% clean all the time but sometimes it's impossible.

The managers were super helpful for everything we needed, always there, great folks. Kitchen gets pretty crowded because it's not exactly spacious, and the outdoors area is small but nice. Rooms are great, but the mattress springs are one step away from poking through. Lots of street noise. Huge lockers are really nice. The 3 bathrooms are nice in that the toilet, sink, and shower are all together, yours until you leave... but 3 bathrooms are not enough for all the folks there. Nice social place but no parties.
Bad points: There's a BBQ, and when it's used the whole hostel fills with smoke. If you have smoke allergies, DON'T GO. Also, it's not exactly clean... the toilets are cleaned every day, but after my 7 day stay, nothing else had been cleaned: there were the same mirror smears, hairs in the sinks, grime in the corners, muck on the bathroom floors, just a little thicker throughout. Generally not in great repair either, showers don't drain, toilet seats broken, etc. Liquid soap is provided, sort of... one bathroom had no soap for the entire 7 days, and no toilet paper for 4 days, despite requests.

We work very hard with our maids to keep the hostel clean every day. And you can see, they remain in the hostel, sometimes more than 8 hours in a day. But will understand that when the hostel is full, and with so many shared spaces is sometimes almost impossible to keep everything perfect 24 hours a day. Especially when many of our guests do not give the slightest cooperation in cleaning and use the bathrooms or kitchens leaving all super dirty no matter that there are more people who want to use the services also clean. I assume you have been a coincidence because every day we replace the missing review and soap and toilet paper in the bathrooms, if you ever miss something, we apologize. With regard to street noise is inevitable sorry but you will happen if you stay in the heart of a great city like Mendoza.

Small hostel, good atmosphere, not a party hostel but you still meet people and mingle if wanted. It was very clean, normal Argentinean breakfast, good WIFI,small but nice rooftop area, excellent service and good location. I would come back for sure! If you are looking for a private you should book it in advance because they only have two private rooms. Good and fully equipped kitchen. Great option for tours at the hostel at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: The dorms downstairs don't have ac and a bit loud at night if people is hanging out in the rooft...

The hostel was great- the staff was amazing and super friendly. It is in a safe location not too far from downtown and at a nice price. The hostel had modern, fun decor and the guests were buena onda. The rooms were air conditioned, but only until the morning. My only complaints are the bathrooms are not AC, making them very hot and humid. My dorm didn´t lock, but everyone had an individual locker. Overall I would recommend this hostel!

Coming from Cordoba, this hostel was a welcome break. It's small and there is no bar or pool table-type area, so people are relatively quiet and calm. When we were there, it was mostly couples and a few solo female travelers. We stayed in both the downstairs dorm and an upstairs private. The downstairs dorm wasn't spectacular, a little noisy in the mornings, but otherwise fine. The private room had a/c and a tv which was a nice treat!

The bathrooms were relatively well maintained, though the showers never really got hot, just warm. Overall the hostel was very clean, a bathroom/shower was always free, and the kitchen was never too busy. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and I recommend you take them up on the stay 3 nights free bikes deal with Mr. Hugo's offer. It was fun!

Overall, would stay again and would recommend for couples, solo female travelers, and for those looking for a social but peaceful and respectful atmosphere.

We stumbled upon this hostel when our preferred choice was booked. What a grat find!! Really cool manager you has a ridiculous amonut of DVDs for the rainy/hangover days. The whole place was clean. Only downside would be they have put one too many bunks in the 8 bed. The matresses were quite uncomfortable and could probably do with a flip. Other than that it's a great place to stay.

This hostel was really good, the staff were all very helpful, there is cable tv, a huge movie selection. Two outdoor patios, a good clean kitchen, nice common room. The internet and wifi is awesome. Three bathrooms upstairs which was awesome but could have been cleaner, the floors had ash all around and the sinks didn't look clean, but the showers were good, hot water would cut out if someone else showered at the same time. Has a great atmosphere, good range of people staying there, the staff are helpful and give you a map when you arrive! The rooms were a bit cramped and a lot of street noise comes in, but there are big lockers to put your backpack in. Definitely suggest it to stay at!!!!

Room Tip: Downstairs 4 bed nicknamed the dungeon, very noisy
