“Made my stay in Mendoza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

I loved my stay at Punto Urbano. There was always something to do! There were free activities at night, and there were some activities that cost money, but they were worth it! It made my stay in Mendoza excellent! The staff is friendly and I also booked my tours through there!

The only problem I had was that the dorm I stayed in was HOT. It's summer in January, and I think they could do with another fan in that room because once all of the people are in the room it is not the best for sleeping.

We stayed here for two nights.

The owner is new and perhaps for that reason, at no extra cost we were treated to:
- wine every night
- an empanada making class (so, we got a tasty dinner for free, accompanied by more wine)
- incredible buffet breakfasts. none of this bread and jam business. We're talking omelettes, crepes, cereal, fruit (!)
- free music performance

The outdoor area is extensive with hammocks, a ping pong table and heaps of space to chill.

The staff are friendly and can help you book a range of different tours to wineries, thermal springs, Andes. Don't worry if your Spanish isn't so great, the staff speak excellent English.

The bathrooms are nothing special, but are cleaned frequently.

We'd stay here again.

Room Tip: The four bedroom dorms are fine in terms of size. Although there was a ceiling fan in our room it...

We had some really great days in Punto Urbano. The room was quite okay and clean, however the common areas and activities are what scores high points. Beside the big garden with hammocks and trees for shadow, we enjoyed the free wine tasting and learned how to make empanadas by Mama Mary. At sundays they throw a great 'Asado'.. Oh - and not to forget the great breakfast with pancakes con leche and scrample egg!! Great stay!

THE ambiance in THE hostel was Nice. THE outdoor place is very good, also THE breakfast And THE kitchen. We had a 3 bed dorm (room 13) wich didn't had a window. It was next to THE reception And THE personel were listening to music until 00.30. When I asked to turn it down they did. But at 1.30 they turned up THE music And started drilling in THE wall. THE bathrooms were not clean, THE room was hot, light And noisy. We had a reservation for 3 nights but left after 1 night. THE girl at THE reception during THE night was really Nice.
