Owner description: Andrés Pedro Antonietti Filippini, winemaker and lover of the wine industry, started his activity in 1962 as a winemaker in Bodega Filippini, at that moment, the winery of his mother Lydia, daughter of Don Luigi Filippini. In that winery, he learned the most intimate secrets of the winemaking process. Not only his mother’s relatives were dedicated to the wine industry, but also his grandfather Ferdinando Antonietti, being a winemaker who graduated in Conegliano, Italy, decided to emigrate to Argentina, where he started his activity in the three of the most important wineries of Maipú in those times.Andrés Pedro, in 1986 bought a family land and started the business of a great aenological quality on his own. In 2000 he decided to restore the winery located in the property. In this project, everyone in his family joined him, his wife Norma, his son Adrián and his daughters Andrea and Betiana..For those who want to know more about this proyect and his founders, the tour starts at the vineyards and continues at the tasting room where a tasting class takes place, leaded by the winemaker of the family: Andrés Antonietti. The tasting session is followed by a lunch with the Antonietti family in the mainhouse, paring whit typical mendocina food.

Andres makes the best malbacs, champagnes and chardonnays that will ever cross your palate. The winery is set in a pastoral setting with vineyards (of course), the Andes in the background, and a very old "cueva" where Andres will take you and show you the nuances of grading wines. Afterwards, you'll be treated to Norma's outstanding gourmet dinner with the Antonietti family under the crystal clear Mendoza night. Forget the crush of the Napa Valley hordes. This is the real deal. It's not an experience we will forget.

“Excellent winery experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

We so very much enjoyed our visit with the Antonietti Family at the Bodega Familia Antonietti. Their warm welcome, exceptional wine tour, educational wine tasting experience and delicious, home cooked Italian dinner delighted and amazed us. Their wines are superb, and reflect the lifetime of wine-making experience Andres Antonietti brings to this beautiful boutique winery.

“Never judge a book by its cover...or winery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2012

Bodega Familia Antonietti was the last stop on our Ampora Wine tour. We left Tempas Alba, a modernistic design and production facility to arrive at the home Andres Antonietti, his wife Norma, and their daughter Betiana and my initial hesitation for the traditional home winery was quickly ablated the warm welcome and shuffling of to the clay oven. As soon as we arrived and finished the greeting by the entire family, Andres moved from winemaker to cook and removed the empanadas from the clay oven...I have fallen in love with empanadas, but these were spectacular, right out of the oven...We enjoyed the empanadas with a great 2004 malbec (old for a malbec) and some family made olive oil.

We were then created to a traditional Argentinian BBQ of beef, sausage, ribs, and blood sausage...great stuff cooked on a traditional argentinian outdoor BBQ/grill. Andres shared his devotion to classic winemaking but also his extensive knowledge of traditional and modern winemaking techniques...he lives and breathes wine, especially sparkling white wine.

Definitely a must visit when in Mendoza.

“The best way to see true wine country”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

We were in in Mendoza for four days and wanted to do a wine tour. Our tour included several wineries adn then a third (Bodega Familia Antonietti) where we stopped and the family made us lunch and talked to us about the winery and the history of the land.

I cannot emphasize enough how incredible this experience was. The family was so warm and wonderful. The winemaker - Antonio - spoke incredibly good english (as did his daughter) and was able to share with us the history of the family and history fo the wine making on the very land where we sat and had lunch. they made empanadas in a stone oven which were crisp and ready when we arrived. This was followed by DELICIOUS asada and salad. And then dessert - made with eggs from the chickens on the land. Of course, all was paired with a different wine made by Antonio. The wines were the best we had tasted at any of the wineries we had visited. Antonios wife, Norma, was my favorite. She was so fun and made the atmosphere so enjoyable.

If you come to Mendoza, and dont spend an afternoon at Bodega Familia Antonietti, you have not truly seen Mendoza.

The only negative was that we had to leave and couldnt give up our ´real life´and live with Antonio and Norma.

“This once in a life time experience fulfills a "bucket list" adventure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

The Familia Antonietti winery was the third and final stop included during our Ampora Wine Tour. As we traveled down a secluded, gravel road we wondered if our driver had perhaps taken a wrong turn. However we eventually found the gated entrance of the Bodega Familia Antonietti Winery and family home. We were greeted with delicious wine and warm homemade empanadas served by our welcoming hosts. The Antonietti Familia provided a fabulous tradtional Argentinian lunch, complete with a variety of suberb grilled meats, a variety of fresh salads, and of course plenty of outstanding wine. Our lunch was enjoyed outside on a beautiful table nestled between the family home and vineyards. Andres Antonietti was the perfect host as he shared stories of his family's history and his profound knowlege of the "Art of Wine Making." Upon the completion of our tour we felt blessed to have made lasting memories, complete with new friends. The Antonietti Familia provided much more than a delious varitey of wine. They gave us an experience of a lifetime!. Salud! Tony and Susan
