“appearances are deceiving”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

The Cliff Dwellers Lodge does not look like much from the road but you will be pleasantly surprised. The location is fantastic only a couple of hundred yards from the base of the Vermillion Cliffs. We stayed in one of the older units which are roomy but in need of some paint and TLC. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom is small and rustic, the shower is a little funky but it works. The restaurant is great. They serve very good food in big portions and after traveling through Utah having a beer or drink is a bonus.

For $90 you'll get really good, clean beds, a coffee maker, flat screen tv with lots of channels, all in THE location to do your rafting trips or get access to world class trout fishing. We were there for a before and after stay for our week-long river trip and everyone we met there was a repeat customer. There's minimal choices for lodging here, really minimal. If you have an RV, it looks like CD may also offer sites.
The restaurant next door is terrific.

Room Tip: Rooms 31 and 32 have no shared walls except each other.

Stayed here at Easter 2013 having stayed at the Lees Ferry Lodge the year before. Loved this place. Good rooms at reasonable prices ($89 Easter weekend). On-site restaurant served good fare and was served up by friendly folks.

Add to that the amazing views of the Vermillion Cliffs and the great guide shop on site (fishing on Marble Canyon is awesome!) and how can you not love the place?

We stayed here the night before a great trip down the Grand Canyon with Hatch Expeditions. The hotel is pretty basic and clean but has an interesting location near the cliff dweller historic rock houses, a good shop for getting last minute expedition items, and a surprisingly good restaurant for its size and location. Overall, a friendly spot.

We stopped here for a couple of nights just to relax. The room was clean. No fridge or micro wave. They do have one in the office that the staff used to heat something for me. They have a restaurant with pretty good food and you get your ice there also. Not much to do there but fish, relax and watch the stars. We enjoyed our stay for what we were doing.

We stayed here before taking our trip rafting down the Grand Canyon (which was amazing)! We only stayed one night, which was good, because there's not a lot to do around here, other than enjoy the beauty around us.
The rooms were a little older, but they were clean and pleasant. Nothing really stood out as good or bad.
The food at the local little restaurant/kitchen was very good though, and good food is very important to my family and I!
The other people working/staying in the area were very friendly and interesting, and we enjoyed chatting with everyone. They were very help and had good recommendations for things in the area and what to expect down the river.

Overall, we would stay there again and recommend it to a low maintenance friend!

My wife and I stayed here one night for a guided fly fishing trip. The lodge is quaint and clean. Our room was spacious and clean. It's not spectacular but you don't go here for a resort experience. The restaurant on site was small but had great food. We ate dinner and breakfast here and enjoyed both meals. The place has a gas station and full service fly shop.

The fly fishing trip was excellent. Dale Gauthier was my guide and he did a wonderful job. He put me on fish all day. I'd definitely go back!

Room Tip: No pool or fitness center. Our room was a king room that faced the road. I'd stay in it again.
