we stayed for a few days the first week of january. we took a semi private van from Buenos Aires on January 1. an uneventful journey. we arrived at victoria village to stay in an apartment for a week. i was not aware that the bookings are from Sunday to Sunday. no matter we missed out on a day or two. there is one outdoor pool that is heated and one indoor. we never used the indoor. the rooms are big. my daughter had a room with bunk beds and and extra single bed. she chose the upper bunk. my wife and i had a queen size with a television. there is a full kitchen, dinning room and living area. two bathrooms in our unit. cleaning service daily and juice, breads and instant coffee delivered daily. the rooms could use some updates and the wifi is very slow. you need to travel to the reception for proper connection. the beach is very close. a 5 to 10 min walk. make sure to bring some kind of foot ware as the sand will cook your feet by mid afternoon. you room gets you an umbrella and plastic chairs at the beach. great to sit and read or to store your stuff. there is a restaurant on the beach that is very close. victoria village offers a free kids club to guests. my daughter loved it. they played on the beach all day. they have a sheltered area as well so the kids don’t get sun stroke. the staff was amazing.
the whole staff at victoria village are amazing. when our van failed to arrive to pick us up we went back got our room that we had checked out of, and because it was saturday they never charged us for the stay since the rental is based on a weekly rate. not only that but they booked bus tickets for us the following morning from pinamar, a little city 10 mins away. Bus is far better since you can take a cab for about $6 or 60 pesos, (at the 10peso to $1 rate), to the bus station. the bus was far more comfortable and faster. we took the buenos aires express and arrived in 4 hours.
carilo is a great little place. lots of restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, etc. you can walk from victoria village around 15 mins or take a $2 cab each way. the water was surprising good. surfing is ok. we will definitely return to victoria village.
again. there are more luxurious places but we had incredible service and the kids club was perfect for our daughter. we will definitely return to victoria village.
