After reading a couple of the reviews in here and in our pocket guide, we decided to venture to 1816 to see if the empanadas Tucumanas (sp?) were as good as people told us. Well, they were probably the best we tried in our time in BsAs. We also like the ones with ham and cheese and sugar.
They were really full and crispy and not fried. The service was great and since we were staying close by, we ate there twice before we left and even took a couple of empanadas with us to eat at the airport while we were waiting to go through security. The service was great too and although I am not a native speaker, they were very patient with me and even gave us recommendations for other places to eat..Highly recommended!!!
