“Top Notch Through and Through”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2011

We just got back from Buenos Aires. From the time we arrived to this hotel we felt at home. Don't let the tiny lobby fool you. If you are looking for a true boutique hotel in the heart of Buenos Aires, this is the place. The rooms are even better than the pictures. We were a family of three, 2 adults and one 6 year old. The sofa which was very confortable was made for our 6 year old which he loved. Here are the pros & cons:

Pros: Rooms - Modern, clean, spacious, confortable rooms. All rooms have wood floors and a balcony.

Location - You really cannot beat this location. You have Recoleta cemetary dead in front of the hotel, within walking distance to many restaurants, pizzerias, bars, malls, etc.....and centrally located to go to and fro to anyplace in BA in taxi.

Staff - All received you with a sincere smile and willingness to go the extra mile to meet your needs.

Cons: It may be a little pricier than others, but I believe worth the cost for the quality of your stay.

That would really be the only negative....but something one has to determine. FYI, the construction noise a few people mentioned earlier was once an issue I am sure, but now they are in construction phase as opposed to demolition of the building so I do not think it will be an issue....atleast it wasn't for us.

NOTE: Try to arrive on a Sunday and take advantage of the feria de Plaza Francia which is the park within a 2 minute walk from the hotel....great people watching and entertaining. They have this "street fair" also in San Telmo and different central plazas or parks in the city.

Room Tip: We were in a room on the second floor in the back that did not have a great view, but did have a bal...

It is a real shame, this hotel is located in one of the best places in Buenos Aires and the rooms are spacious, bright and modern. However, as many people stated before, it is located right next to a disco with very loud music that goes on until 5 am.
I booked this hotel because I we only needed one night (a Tuesday) before our flight home the next day and I mistakenly assumed that the disco would shut down early being a week day...But oh no! as it was a public holiday the next day the music started around 1am and kept us awake until 5.30am. I was fuming as we had to get on our 14 hr flight home without sleep...
I'm sorry but I do not recommend this place unless you are young and plan to party with the people next door.

We loved our stay at Urban, a very nice boutique hotel. The decor is modern, the rooms are spacious and very clean. The attendants were always very attentive staff, give a special touch to this hotel in front of the cemetery of Recoleta. The neighborhood that this hotel is located is the most luxurious of BsAs, with several cafes and streets around it beautiful to walk. Worth it. Surely we will return to this hotel.

In fact, probably not at all in the near future.

Sadly, this hotel has so much going for it. Great location, spacious and well fitted rooms extrememly comfortable beds, helpful staff.

BUT as a previous member commented, it is right next door to a bar/nightclub. We arrived on a Friday afternoon after 20 hours of travelling and so looking forward to a good nights sleep. Were awoken before midnight with loud drum and base music [earplugs were totally useless !] This went on all night, finally stopping at 6am. Same again for Saturday evening/Sunday morning. There was virtually no way anyone could sleep through this and I'm not totally sure why all the guests didn't check out ?

Hopefully tonight [being Sunday] there may be some respite, although a card has just been delivered to the room stating that construction on the building site next door will start in the morning at 9am thru to 6pm.

A great little hotel but don't expect to get any sleep when you stay there !

Dear guest,

We would like to apologize for all the inconvenience during your stay.
However, we want to clarify that the disco next door has been closed since January 2011.

This hotel would have been great had it not been for the non-stop construction that is going on right next door. After a long day of traveling we checked-in to Urban Suites and when we lay down to take a nap, the hammering started up. The building under construction is right next door and the construction is so loud that we thought it was coming from the room above us. It stopped around 7 pm and then started right up again at 7 am. I think the hotel is doing a great disservice to its guests by not disclosing this information as guests who are looking to sleep (which is really the main purpose of a hotel room) will not find that luxury here. Even without the construction, the hotel is not sound proof- you can hear the other guests and what seemed like a million kids out on the street at 7 am which I couldn't explain. But the location is great, the rooms attractive, and the view of the cemetery from the roof is really cool. But I would stay away until construction is complete. And I think that the hotel should offer a discounted rate to guests during this time.

Room Tip: Trip Advisor can steer you wrong. Beware!

This hotel was conveniently located in Recoleta - right by the cemetery. Great restaurants and cafes nearby. Walking distance to major sights. Not far from nightlife in Palermo.

The room was spacious and very clean. There was a small balcony and the bathroom was a great size. Safe in our room as well. They had a pillow menu so you can choose your preferred pillow type - what a great touch!

Service was efficient and front desk staff were helpful, allowing us to store our luggage before checking in and after checking out (due to flight schedules).

The breakfast was included and wasn't a huge selection of foods but had a good variety and was definitely sufficient for us.

The club next door has closed down. There were some concerns from other reviews but not noisy at all.

No pool but a hot tub and sauna and small fitness area upstairs on the rooftop.

Overall for the price, it was in a great safe location and very clean. Definitely would recommend!
