I travel for a living and spend a lot of time in hotels. I booked a week-long stay at Mine through their website. They arranged pickup at the chaotic Buenos Aires airport and welcomed us earlier than normal checkin time.
The hotel is supremely clean, the rooms very very comfortable, and the location beyon perfect. But what really stands out is the staff.
First the location. Mine is in Palermo Soho, a trendy neighborhood of shops, restaurants, and bars. Pretty much anything you would want to do is within a few blocks of the hotel. Local designers, amazing restaurants, and seemingly all-night bars are less than five minutes away. No matter where we went in BA, we always wanted to come back to "our neighborhood" to relax. Getting around BA from Palermo is simple. It's a perfect center location. When you're there, make sure to eat at Mott, two blocks away. The entire neighborhood feels like a slice of NYC or Paris, truly.
Now to the property itself. It's small so it's always quiet and without the fuss of a major hotel. The restaurant area and patio are quiet and almost zen-like. Anytime of day there's someone sitting outside reading, relaxing on the couch, or enjoying a coffee. As far as the rooms go, excellent. The zen-like showers get some bad reviews on tripadvisor because sometimes they leak a bit. If you've ever used a large zen like shower, it will occasionally spill through the glass door. It's nothing to complain about.
The shining star of the property is the staff. By our second day we knew their names and they ours. They go way out of their way to help you find a restaurant, find a destination for the afternoon, or figure out the neighborhoods of BA. They aren't the typical concierge with brochures and tourism-board inspired ideas. They live there and are themselves interesting people, so they know how to direct you to what you want.
All in all, I mean this when I say I was sad to leave. The hotel has the feeling of home. Warm, comfortable, and perfectly located. We honestly felt like each time we returned, we were returning to our apartment. It's more expensive than the standard, run of the mill BA properties, but it's worth it. You're staying in a neighborhood like SOHO or Chelsea in NYC and the convenience is worth it. You'll agree after you spend a few minutes shopping or at a restaurant that you would only think to find in a city like NYC.
I honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough. Give it a shot. It will blow you away.
