Get into this hotel quick! My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here for 6 nights in May. Brilliant staff, fabulous layout, great breakfast, great location, cool decor.....what more do you need.
When I say the staff were brilliant that is an understatement, they were way better than that! They could not do more for a guest , something the big hotels chains often miss.
We just could not fault it - it's a gem.

I stayed at the Mine Hotel in early May 2008, after booking through Asia Rooms. I found the rates excellent (about $100 US per night) for the standard of hotel

Mine Hotel is a boutique hotel in Palermo Soho, a trendy neighbourhood in BA.

I had many emails with the hotel prior to my arrival and they were always very prompt and helpful in their responses. The service is excellent and the staff go out of their way to help, organising taxis, tours etc and providing great advice on the local area and BA in general.

On arrival I was ill and the hotel offered to arrange a doctor to attend. Unfortunately he didn´t arrive (which is not the hotel´s fault) but I got better so that was alright. As a lovely gesture, the hotel organised and paid for a city tour, including a taxi to the meeting point, to a value of about $40 US. I think this is wonderful and really above and beyond the call of duty.

The restaurant in the hotel is great and there are many lovely little touches like putting chocolates and a weather forecast for the following day on your bed in the afternoon. And the beds are excellent with lovely soft sheets, pillows etc. The only thing is if your room is at the front of the hotel you will get a fair amount of street noise so request a room at the back.

The only thing this hotel would benefit from is a day spa on premises - but then you may never leave.

  • Liked — The service
  • Disliked — No day spa, noise from the street

my goal and challenge was to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday in ba. since my father recently passed away, i wanted to fill his shoes and make her dream a reality. so here is to the reviewers of trip advisor and to the mine hotel for their attentiveness to my e-mails prior to trip, making it so easy to decide on their hotel. from marcelo, the owner, to dario, nadia, guillermo, ariel, and the best hotel manager, angela, you helped me discover the mine hotel. .......when we pulled up to the hotel and escorted into the lobby, all i could do is describe the mine hotel as a jewelry box in ba. ....located in trendy soho palermo, why would you want to be downtown?, unless you had to be there, afterall, the downtown area closes up at night and you would miss the opportunity to stroll the slick streets of this area and hang out at kool clubs and restaurants and miss some great shopping. from the architecture, to the smell, and ambiance, all of our needs were met. breakfast was very good and the gentle sounds of john lennon permeated the air with a freshness, that made you want an excuse to come down stairs and linger around the lobby and restaurant and talk to other guest about their day. the mine hotel hit dead-on for being a hip boutique oasis. the staff was beyond fantastic and customer service was a priority. angela so many thanks to you. it is because of the staff, i am writting this review. what value can be placed on making us feel so welcome and at home. and what a great value for your money. as for the rooms, ...clean, airy, and the linens were top notch, even down to the embroidered pillow cases. as i mentioned, breakfast was very good and even try the restaurant at night. the chef is well known on tv for her style. so my hat is off to you marcelo, for a job well done and to the staff (go angela go!!) in making my mom's dream come true. finally, don't let one bad review spoil the oasis that is here. they are able to fill the needs of young hipsters to an 80 year young lady. read as many reviews as possible and know a lot of your trip depends on your attitude and essence to relax and enjoy life. jerry from atlanta

We just returned from a week's stay at the Mine Hotel. What a great experience! The hotel staff is EXTREMELY helpful, professional, and sincere. Every person on staff we encountered seemed eager to help with whatever we needed (advice for sightseeing, directions, etc.) The hotel itself is very clean and we loved the stylish decor. The pictures on the hotel's website accurately depict what you will see when you get there. Also, the food and wine in the hotel's restaurant were very good. We loved the fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast!

There were only a couple of very minor issues we had with the place. One was the shower. The shower floor is just a continuation of the bathroom floor with a raised portion separating it to try and keep water from getting all over the bathroom floor. This was not very effective and we ended up with a wet floor every morning after our showers. It wasn't anything a few towels couldn't soak up, so really no big deal. The only other thing I wasn't crazy about was the bottom sheet on the bed. This may just be a matter of culture or maybe just personal preference. They had a regular sheet covering the mattress instead of a fitted sheet. What this meant was that after a night's sleep, we would wake up to a corner of an exposed mattress near our heads. I'm a little bit picky when it comes to keeping a layer of clean material between me and a mattress that other people have slept on. Again, this wasn't a huge deal. I just tried to tuck it under the mattress as best as I could before I went to sleep and tried not to toss and turn so much in the night (which wasn't difficult - the beds were pretty comfortable!).

Overall, I would say this was a great experience. I would certainly stay here again and recommend the hotel to anyone traveling to Buenos Aires!!
