I stayed in a double room at Giorgio's House for one week, sharing with a friend. Giorgio's House is excellent for the following reasons: location, design, and people.
1) Location: This property is proximal to conveniences, most importantly the Subte (makes a good base to explore from). Riding the Subte everyday gave us time to prep, wind down, and see Argentines on their way to work, school, fun, etc. Further, I think the Caballito neighborhood's status as an "outer barrio" is a definite plus. It seemed like a lower/middle class neighborhood with few tourists, thus feeling a bit more Argentinian, not "dressed up", and more affordable. We just felt like normal citizens, which is how I like it.
2) Design: The house felt like a well-cared home. It looks just like the pictures on the website. Flooring is earthen tiles, wood furniture, high beamed ceilings, a good sense of color and design throughout. A house you walk into and feel safe and at home. There is also heating for the winter, hooray!
3) People: Anastasia and Irina were both excellent hosts. Always welcoming, cheerful, inquiring of our experiences in BA, full of tips for the next day. They even organized some outings for us and accompanied us there so we would not get lost (literally and socially), just because they are awesome. It was clear that they love their city, and that's the best kind of host to have!
In conclusion, *awesome*. The guesthouse experience is more comfortable and grown-up than a hostel, but not impersonal like a big hotel. Best of all worlds.
