We stayed in the Baucis a the beginning of a 7 week trip around Argentina, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect start to the trip. The hotel is in a great location in Palermo, and is within easy reach of all the main attractions of the city.
But what sets this hotel apart from others, is the level of service that the staff offer - No question was too much, and they are more than willing to offer advice on trips in Buenos Aires and beyond, on places to eat and drink locally, and on places to visit that might not be on the tourist radar - all this advice comes unprompted, and as if being given by someone you have known for a long time.
Because of the advice we received from Josefina on where to go in Bariloche and the surrounding areas (yes, they will even offer advice of travelling in Argentina), we planned our entire stay in Bariloche (and San Martin de los Andes) based on her excellent advice.
The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and the hotel feels more like being at home that a hotel. Many of the so called 'Chain' hotels and higher rated hotels should look at the Baucis, and see the service they offer as they would all learn a very valuable lesson on what Customer Service should be.
We had such a great time in this hotel, that we booked to stay there on our last night in Argentina, and as it was the perfect place to start our trip, it was also the perfect place to end it.
