Rick´s Place is the best hidden gem in Buenos Aires for sure. I found Rick´s online and communicated easily with Lee, who was more than helpful and answerd my millions of questions about the place, the location (San Telmo) and the like.

I´ve stayed at Rick´s twice now and am heading back in a few days for my 3rd stay in the last year and have nothing but great stuff to say about it from Lee and her delicious homemade breakfasts of fresh muffins, eggs and beans, fresh juice, delicious cheeses and fresh fruit, to Rick (who is the gorgeous dog) and all the staff.

The rooms are great, with lots of sunlight, great bathrooms and down comforters and great pillows, best nights sleep ever!

The location is great, right in the heart of San Telmo and its easy to walk to the centro or anywhere in San Telmo and just a short walk from Puerto Madero.

There are some great restaurants just down the street from Rick´s including Desnivel wher you´ll get a fabulous steak (bife de chorizo) at a great price.

Lee always has the place stocked with delicious wines and is ready to offer any guidance you need!

Enjoy and look no further!

Having read the reviews on Tripadvisor on this little gem in Buenos Aires, we booked our stay with the property directly. On arrival, we could immediately see why others before us had written such glowing reports. "Rick's Place" is a warm, friendly and perfectly located property for that city experience. On arrival, our luggage had been lost by the airline. however, Lee, who seems to run the business provided much welcomed support in trying to reach the airline, taking us to some clothes shops to help us recover from the disappointment of having no baggage - generally, going the extra mile in trying to help us. Thank you Lee. John, the owner, was very accomodating - nothing seemed to be any trouble. John even took the time to take us out one evening to a tango club - the like of which we could never have found ourselves.
In summary, why would you stay at an expensive hotel in town where you are probably located away from the heart of the real city (San Telmo) with perfect walking access to everything, at a very reasonable cost indeed.
My one and only comment is that if you are looking for total privacy and something with a little bit more room within your accomodation, then you might want to look elsewhere. However, we were thoroughly delighted and would return.

The resident dog "Rick" is an irresistable softy!

My friends and I stayed at Rick's Place for a few nights, and it was probably the highlight of an amazing trip to Argentina & Chile. Lee & John couldn't be more welcoming and helpful hosts. We are already planning our next trip to beautiful BA and Rick's Place.

Hugh Thompson from London writes. As part of my wife and I's world tour we spent a few weeks in Buenos Aires.Through contacts we had heard of Ricks Place and it seemed a good place to start. How right we were. The perfect boutique hotel where you really are made to feel one of the family. Even the prices are friendly. San Telmo is really the place to be, great bars and restuarants and where else but at Ricks can you find such a roof terrace and the staff brilliant at arranging everything from tango lessons to helping us find a flat for a more permanent stay. In many ways I wish it was my home.

We stayed at Rick's Place for about 12 days during Nov 2007. It is probably the best Bed & Breakfast I have ever stayed in -- and I have traveled extensively through South America (Chile, Ecuador, Costa Rica) and Europe! The location of Rick's Place (San Thelmo) is very central, close to many restaurants, city bus stops and the Subte (about 4 blocks), the rooms are fantastic, breakfasts faboulous and John (the owner) is the nicest, kindest and the most helpful and generous host. I absolutely cannot recommend it enough...
