My business host had booked me at the Torre Cristoforo Colombo for the 3 days of the conference that I was presenting at. Never having been to BA, I thought about booking my pleasure portion of my trip in Torre CC as well. Let me just say, after having endured three days at Toree CC, booking at the Hotel Moreno salvaged my trip and completely reversed my opinion of the accomodations in BA. From the moment I walked into the lobby at Hotel Moreno until I left, I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Every single person in the hotel went out of their way to help. Juan (with brown hair and glasses...there are two) was lovely and brilliant to chat with. We wanted to go see a Tango show and they laundered my dress clothes exactly as I had asked in less that 5 hours! They booked my trip to Uruguay. Anything we asked for, they were able to meet my expectations perfectly. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with huge rooms. For the first two days, we stayed in the Extra Large Room which was absolutely beautiful and much more spacious than most US hotel rooms, even in expensive hotels. For the last two days, we decided to upgrade to the J loft so that we could have the jacuzzi. While the jacuzzi was nice and the room was even larger, for just two people, I was perfectly pleased with the extra large room. The bathrooms were amazing, the beds comfortable, and the service was great.
The only complaint that I would have about this hotel is the breakfast. The breakfast was the same everyday and this got a bit old...but that being said, it was yummy...just the same.
Ok, one final rave...my birthday was about a month after my stay. The hotel even sent me a birthday email...yet another testament to the level of detail of service provided by the staff at this wonderful hotel. You won't be disappointed!

We wanted a decent priced but centrally located hotel and this is exactly it. The location is perfect - it is a walking distance from all major sites.

Rooms are large, luminous and most importantly very clean. The staff is amazingly nice and helpful. They really do their best to make you feel welcome.

Having stayed in BsAs on three previous occasions and having stayed at the Sofitel (terrific), Sheraton (very good) and 725 (awful), we booked this small boutique hotel with some trepidation. Like much else in the fabulous city, it holds hidden charms. The entrance is a little unprepossessing but on taking the lift to reception, you are in another world. The entire staff are more than friendly, knowledgeable and cannot do enough to assist (thanks Carolina!) The building is a converted publishing house and retains original tiles and stained glass windows in the common areas. The rooms are large, sleek and stylish – a slightly odd washbasin arrangement placed outside the bathroom area but nothing too distracting. As the hotel is not quite finished (a restaurant and tango theatre will open in 2008), breakfast is modest and served adjacent to the rooftop patio; this is set to change next year. The staff arranged flowers in the room and welcome drinks which was great. The location could not be better – you really feel as though you’re in the heart of everything.
Anyone wanting to experience “real” tango and not the dreadful touristy shows at the Tortoni and the like should try [--] – they will have you dancing after a few lessons and initiate you into the etiquette of proper milongas. Highly recommended.

We stayed at this hotel in Oct 07 for four nights. We are a young couple of Doctors and we were in Buenos aires attending a Congress; so we have very little day time to know the city. The staff is excellent and very helpful, they were great at helping us plan our short days in Buenos Aires.

Other reviewers are right, the rooms are HUGE. The terrace is stunning, and a great place to sit and relax and read.

Some good restaurants are very close (less than 200 meters), and the Plaza de Mayo is one block away. This is a very good hotel - you will not be disappointed.

Well... I have travel widely over the world for work. I´ve been in quite a lot of five star hotels in U.S. , New Zeland, Hong Kong, China, Germany, Spain, Italy and a few more countries. This time I chose argentina for pleasure and I must say this hotel is among my top 3, maybe top 2. As everyone explained the rooms are huge and really incredible decorated. Check out it´s website. It´s located downtown so you really have many things to do around it. Staff there is quite young but very polite and professional. I could only say the stay there was one of the best things of my vacations. Thumbs up !
