“Safe, interesting neighborhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2012

We stayed in Palermo Hollywood while we were in Buenos Aires. It seemed a quiet oasis to come back to after spending the day in the city center. There are lots of nice restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops and bit of an upscale vibe. There is plenty of nightlife and fun to be had.

“Home away from home...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2012

I lived in this wonderful neighborhood for a month. The people are fantastic - there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping nearby. The Subte is just blocks away, just about every bus runs through here and it's in the middle of everything - Recoleta, Belgrano, Caballito and the other Palermos are all nearby.

“Recommended to stay here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2012

We stayed in this barrio and we were glad we did. It is so central to everywhere - the Subte (metro/Underground) is nearby to take you around BA, the neighbourhood is safe (ignore the graffiti, it seems to be everywhere in BA), and it is full of bars and restaurants. You can walk to Palermo Soho or Palermo itself. It is very safe and the trees give it a lot of shade during the hot summer. We walked about during the early hours of the morning and felt perfectly safe.

“A wonderful wander”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2011

A portion of Barrio Palermo, a hip neighborhood, past the point of up and coming and worth a day or three visit while in Buenos Aires. Throw away your map and just wander about. Stay in the boundaries of Juan Justo, Dorrego, Santa Fe and Vega. All the avenidas in between these major avenues are two lane, cobble stone and hold on the sidewalk cafes, wide array of shops and merchants and a natural food market or flea market thrown in for good measure.

My recommend way to arrive, exit the D subte at the Carranza station and find your way to Avenue Arevelo. From Santa Fe walk along Av. Arevelo to Av. Nicaragua, to your right is Av. Dorrego which holds 2 locations of the excellent cafe Oui Oui. Make your days game plan here over espresso and home made granola. Throw away the map, trust your instincts and make a bee like path around the area. Stay in my boundaries (for tourist sake not safety) and you are sure to find something no one ever else has.

We stayed in the area for 2 months and I walked it day and night and always felt generally safe. I had great steak, pizza, italian cuisine, french cuisine, bagels, medialunas, german cuisine, fondue even swedish cuisine and couldn't begin to tell you where to go first. Try them all is my suggestion.
