When I search TripAdvisor for hotels, I rely almost exclusively on reviews. That’s how I found Casa Palermitano. I had read every single review. Based on our 2-week stay there recently, I know the very positive reviews were absolutely well-founded. I highly recommend readers make their reservations early.
Besides the extremely modest price and good location close to public transportation and a short walk to the hip Palermo shopping and restaurant areas, we found Casa Palermitano very well-maintained, comfortable and welcoming. Our particular room was spacious and clean, with a good bed, great shower and daylight on two sides. Breakfasts were delicious and filling, with hot coffee, tea, fabulous fresh orange juice and fruit, cereal, cheeses, meats and a variety of tasty pastries generously available. Norma, the friendly cook, was always ready to prepare eggs to order. The airy breakfast room was also a great place to meet fellow travelers. A computer in a living area helped keep us in touch with the rest of the world, and a small patio provided a great place to wind down over drinks at the end of a hard day of touring.
Best of all, though, were our always friendly and helpful hosts, Lorena and Andrea, always cheerful and hardworking women who provided us with assistance whenever we asked. Lorena’s tango show and neighborhood fair recommendations exceeded our expectations, and their restaurant tips were unfailingly accurate. Overall, we felt well-cared for by our hostesses, and feel our first visit to this beautiful city was greatly enhanced by our experience with Lorena, Andrea and Norma and their delightful abode. We’d definitely stay again and are telling our friends not to miss it.
